Cant comment really about the area. It was quiet. We stayed just for one night. Arrived at hotel , ate and then slept. Left early next morning. Near to University of Jena where I needed to deliver the item to.

I appreciated the quick service. The dinner menu was well balanced and delicious. I ordered the salmon- so well done, maybe a little less spinach ? The breakfast bar was sufficient and organized well. Again, the service was really fantastic! thanks!

In Jena for business, and this property was recommended. Clean, modern ammenties, restaurant and bar on-site. Other businesses are a bit of hike, but if driving this is very convenient hotel with plenty of free parking.

The hotel is far outside of town (that often comes with the free parking). We picked it since it was said they have a restaurant so we don't need to go to town. The restaurant was closed. When asking why the response was just "closed". The price is not high and consequently the hotel is quite worn down. Otherwise OK but not more.

Unfortunately my family and I were very disappointed with our stay. The air con in our room was broken and we spent the one night there battling to keep our baby cool enough. We were also disappointed with how unclean and unkept the room was. Plus the one site restaurant was closed as was the one site bar (both were meant to be open). The receptionist was friendly and did lend us a fan but couldn't offer us another room nor a discount. Very disappointed overall.

The hotel is located a 10 min walk from the last tram stop so you can go downtown even despite the location of the hotel. If you travel by car you'll appreciate the big car park outside. Hotel and interior are a bit dated, but everything was clean and the bed was ok. Breakfast was ok, but not overwhelming, and included scrambled eggs, bacon, salmon. Spent two nights while visiting friends, would consider going there again.

As far as Best Western Hotels go, this must be one of their better ones, as the rooms were clean and to a good standard! Double bed was comfortable, and reasonable size, rooms were quiet and I slept well (or else Germans are more considerate of fellow guests). I had difficutly connecting to the wifi, and ended up having to spend 30 minutes or so configuring and changing various things with the network settings of my laptop - I don't have to do this anywhere else. Also there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room - everything had to be ordered from the bar. I needed a camomille tea (always bring my own travel pack of herbel teas) but had to explain what I wanted at the bar and order the tea rather than just get hot water. Breakfast was mostly good, catering to European and US tastes. Location is remote but bearable if you've got a car, or can figure out the public transport.

A very comfortable room, well furnished. The one complaint I would have is that the duvet wasn't quite big enough for the bed, but I made do. The facilities were otherwise excellent. The staff was friendly and very competent. The hotel card allows free travel on the Jena tram and bus system, which is very convenient. The restaurant food was good but not much choice for vegans (which I am).
