Interesting hotel for a two night business stay. I was given a maisonette room facing into the town wall (integrated into the room) which was very comfortable. Use the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and would recommend both. All in all an excellent stay.

The room was clean and nice furniture. The view was nice from the room. Didn’t like that they didn’t have a garbage can outside to throw out trash. Also the towels provided looked old and worn out. But the staff was friendly and informative

The hotel is beautiful but was way too far from Ulm where I was attending a show in the stadium (my fault). I had booked a three night stay and on the first night, asked them if I could shorten my reservation, and that I was willing to pay a one night cancellation fee (since I wanted to move to a hotel closer to town). The receptionist told me she thought they could give me 20% of my booking back but I'd have to confirm with the manager the next morning. In the morning, the manager informed me that although the hotel itself would have let me cancel and charged me something (maybe a night) for the cancelation, that because I booked through Expedia, they would not do anything to help me and charged me for all three nights, even though I left after the first night. I would not go to this hotel (way way way too far out from Ulm and because they were so rude).

Excellent family-run hotel from the same family who run the 300-year old brewpub over the street. The hotel is only a few months old, yet the three different blocks each have different themes.
We were in an old city-wall room, with the old wall actually inside the room, and a couple of steps taking us over that and on to a small balcony. Everything is very modern (posh espresso-maker instead of kettle!) and well thought out. The service is also great - a problem with our sliding bathroom door was quickly resolved, and the front desk were happy for us to leave our car in the (small, underground) car park for a few hours after checking out.
The Schwannen brewpub serves as the hotel's restaurant, and its beer garden sits in the hotel courtyard. The regular and seasonal beers are amazing, and the food is very traditional hearty German (and local Swabian) beerhall grub. The hotel breakfast is also served in here, with the cold meats and cheeses supplemented by eggs and bacon cooked to order (if, like us, you're too late for the hotplate!).
Ehingen is a lovely little town with great walking and cycling nearby, and a proud brewing tradition with three breweries in the town itself and another a pleasant country walk away in Berg.
We'll definitely be back again!
