Hotel Speicher am Ziegelsee

Major shower problem on day 1. Reported it straightaway: they kept saying it was solved but it wasn't. Only on the last night (stayed 4 nights!) did they say it was probably a building problem. Offered to let us have a shower in another room. Complaint and request for a discount resulted in a measly 20 Euros discount per night. V poor service an response: shame as it is a nice hotel.

Lovely Hotel in a very nice location

A beautiful hotel by Lake ziegelsee. The hotel had their own boat dock. The view from our room was of the lake. The was spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly, and check in was quick. My only complaint was lack of air conditioning. It was quite warm when we were there even with windows open. Breakfast buffet was good.

This is a very nice property with clean and spacious rooms. Good breakfast and dinner. A boardwalk next to the lake is in front of the property.

Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent.

A lovely hotel in a lovely location. The hotel is very well maintained and coping well with the Coronavirus restrictions. My only negative comment is that the vegetarian options in the restaurant were disappointing. Despite that we do plan to return in the future

Good quiet location in a large well equipped room overlooking the lakeside. Excellent breakfast with fresh ingredients, friendly staff. 20min walk into the Altstadt

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate. Hotel itself was very beautiful and very well taken care of. Would return many times over!

The hotel room was bigger and nicer than we expected. The bathroom was modern and spacious and soap and hair dryer were provided. We would have liked there to be a mini fridge and water cooker in the room but for our short stay it didn’t bother us so much. The beds (sheets) were comfortable but we both found the pillows way too soft, literally no support at all. The complimentary breakfast was nice and the dinner we had in the hotel restaurant was also quite delicious. Staff at the check in counter and those in the restaurant and bar were all very polite and friendly. The hotel is located about 20 min walk from the city center where you can find more dining options but is right by the lake and the view is breathtaking. We enjoyed our walks by the water very much. Overall we had a wonderful stay and thought the location perfect for visiting Schwerin. We were traveling with our little dog and they even provided a water bowl and a small packet of kibbles for her in the room.

We’ve been exploring Hansestädte, and Schwerin ranks up there, near ir at the top. Hotel Speicher, a brisk walk, 15 min from the Altstadt, is ideal. Quiet, spacious rooms, nice staff, great restaurant, what more can you ask for.

Great hotel and restaurant...

Quaint location on the lake with beautiful vistas, staff was pleasant and accommodating. Meals were good. Nothing else around the immediate area but only a couple of miles from downtown.

Comfortable room but there was no airconditioning and it was very hot during our stay. On the lake side - lovely position but 20 mins walk to town. Breakfast very good.

They have a lovely lake view to the west, and very comfortable rooms. Meals in the restaurant were very good, and we especially enjoyed lunch outdoors on a sunny day. I developed a new love: sour cherry jam at breakfast.

Really nice hotel convenient to the town of Schwerin and the lakes. Well-laid out bathroom with lots of room and shelves. Fabulous buffet breakfast each morning and a great dinner menu with the nicest restaurant servers in each case! The only "negative" is the construction going on all around the hotel (not very attractive) and the ugly, waterside crane left over from the Communist era. Even with the "negative" we would definitely stay at this hotel again.
