Mahogany Lodge, Cantonments

Would absolutely recommend this hotel. Staf are wonderful and the airport shuttle is so good. Can't understand why more people do not stay here.Lovely swimming pool; not large but great for cooling down so if you've not tried this place, give it a go. Pharmacist 300yds away, Forex. even nearer and area feels so safe.l

Staff are friendly and professional. I stay here often on my way to the airport, for early morning flights because I do not live in Accra. I have been staying at Mahogany Lodge since 2007. It was a great place to have lunch or dinner when visiting friends in Accra. Unfortunately they now only do breakfast. But the service is excellent, eggs cooked to our specific instructions, and the fresh baked bread rolls are a treat. The rooms are clean, bed linens and bath towels crisp and clean, the duvet on the bed is lovely, pillows fluffy. I love the hand laid parquet hard wood floors. It is a lovely older hotel, charming, priced reasonably. Quiet. Lovely pool also.

Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms. A very decent place to stay

The room was large with a beautiful hand laid parquet hardwood floor. Water pressure good with plenty of hot water. Linens crisp and clean, duvet comfy, bed and pillows comfortable. Staff lovely. I miss the full service restaurant where we had been eating since 2007, but the breakfast is still good and the staff efficient and friendly. This is my home away from home. 1 star lost because of restsurant. But they do leave in the room a list of places that deliver, which is very handy. And the pool is pristine.

Staff hospitality was exceptional!!! The lengths the staff went to make my stay pleasant was on a level like no other. I would recommend this hotel for the warm and sincere attention they give to each and every guest. Thank you Donald!

Very nice little hotel, clean, very comfortable, great location, and great staff ! This will most likely become our "go-to" place when we are in Accra.

This small hotel is very nice, has character and most of all, the staff is very nice ! From the young lady at the reception (I am sorry I forgot her name) to Belinda and Lydia in the breakfast room, to the young man who helped me with my grocery bags, everyone is very nice and ready to help ! Breakfast was a choice of either eggs, breads and bacon/sausage, or oatmeal, both served with fresh fruits and either coffee or tea. Simple but nice Rooms are comfortable with AC (no fan), This hotel will most likely become our top choice when we are in Accra !

Courteous staff & great location

My room was cleaned and bathroom refresh everyday. The staff at Mahogany Lodge are the best..excellent service.

Breakfast has always been great at Mahogany. Good variety, fresh fruit is lovely and the freshly baked bread rolls are delicious, fluffy yeast rolls with a great texture. I wish the restaurant were still open for dinner. It is a nuisance to have to go out and find someplace to eat. The food was always delicious, good variety on the menu, at a reasonable price. One of our favorite places to eat in Accra since 2007. Sad the new management got rid of the dinner service and now only does breakfast. They lose a star for that!

The restaurant at Mahogany Lodge was excellent. The first time I ate there was 2007 while I was building my house. The original rooms have lovely real wood floors, kept in top condition all these years. The whole place is stately, staff excellent. I have been staying there with my husband for many years, every time I fly out of Ghana to see my grandchildren. But I was sadly disapointed that the restaurant for lunch and dinner has stopped serving. Breakfast only. The breakfast is still excellent. Fresh fruit, fresh fruit juice, coffee, tea, eggs, oatmeal and much more, well prepared. Clean, bright dining room. Cloth napkins and table coverings, immaculate and pretty. Great ambiance. The whole hotel is stately and quiet. The rooms are cozy, the duvet on the bed is excellent, clean and crisp linen cover and flufty inside. Our room had a new AC that blasted out cold air. The hot water heater made hot water. Bathroom clean and well lighted. Bedside lamps worked. One of my favorite hotels in Accra. Good value for the cost. I wish thry would bring back the restaurant for dinner! Our room had a folder of 6 or 8 restaurants that do take away. Nice of management to give us that. But I personally, I do not like to eat in my bedroom, as I can not stand the the lasting odors of what we ate on my clean linens and pillows. My hair, smelling of old food, gives me a headache. So ordering food in the room is never an option for me. The lack of dinner service is why I downgrade it to 4 stars.

William was very helpful although I wasn’t pleased with his “uber service” and the forex bureau rate. Regardless, he was very helpful and supportive. Thank you, Helena, Margaret, and the young lady who cleaned upstairs. You were all fantastic helping me deal with my ailing mother. To the restaurant staff, you were great! Especially the gentleman at the reception who heated our food and made sure my mum always had enough to eat. Without your kind gesture, I wouldn’t have been able to take care of my mother in Ghana. Thank you and I hope to see you again when I return to Ghana.

I liked everything about the place.

This hotel has been in business for many years. The old original building had nice architectural things like hand laid wood parquet flooring, funky old bathtubs. Nice art on the walls. Clean crisp linens. Breakfast included. Restaurant has nice selection of foods, well prepared. Staff very professional, helpful, cheerful. This is our go-to hotel when we need to be in Accra.

Located on a serene location, friendly staff and if there's something wrong, they are quick to fix it.

The cleanliness of the facility, the reception and the services is always welcoming from security, to front desk and extends to all the services I patronised

Absolutely great----only disappointment was no ripe plantain for my Redred last night at dinner .

I have been using Mahogany Lodge simce 2006 for my pre airport nights and my flight arrival recuperation weekends. Travel with friends to shop in Accra (I live in Cape Coast. ) Lunch with friends and family. Staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are comfortable, AC and hot water, crisp linens, and a mini fridge in the room. Perfect.
