We have just arrived back after the most fantastic holiday ever . Skiathos is just beautiful so you couldn't not come and have a fantastic holiday wherever you stayed!! However , accommodation is important and the Cape Kanapitsa is a really great hotel . It is in a fantastic location with easy access to the rest of the island by foot , bus or water taxi . There are at least 5 tavernas / restaurants within walking distance and 2 fantastic beaches either side of he hotel . The hotel itself is lovely , very clean with views to die for - the pool , terrace and breakfast area have views of the stunning sea that you could stare at all day ! Our room was a deluxe room and was excellent , very clean and so spacious with the most perfect view of the pool and sea. I know there are different kinds of rooms at the cape , so I couldn't really tell you what the other rooms were like but I can imagine they are of equally high standard - I am sure if you emailed ahead and requested a room with a spectacular view they would accommodate your request . All the staff were so helpful and friendly . If you are pondering whether to stay or not - don't dilly dally !! Just book at the Cape Kanapitsa - you won't be disappointed . I am looking to go back already next year - at the Cape Kanapitsa !

The hotel is new and old, your experience could depend on which part of the hotel your room is in. Having visited this Hotel last year. You see the reception area A1 the pool and bar / breakfast area A1. So when this hotel came up as available with the great location. It was on our short list. When you arrive it takes me back to Skiathos in the 1980's . We have been to Skiathos maybe 18-22 times in the last nearly 30 years. We can live with the ants in the bathroom, the two sings which you find it hard to have a good shave because the plugs don't work ( mechanical plugs ), we can live with the bath not shower curtain, water splashes about a bit, the old days of the hole in the floor water would drain away, here you was left with a wet floor. we can live with the one wall light and two lamp shades, the third plug in light didn't work, when I tried to swap the lamp to another area the socket was loose from the wall, it is Greece. The newer rooms had nice looking garden furniture to sit on, ours had horrible old very old wicker chairs, but it's Greece. Breakfast could have saved the day it didn't, I could go on, even the cooked style breakfast was cold at the 8am opening or go for a later breakfast still cold Would I go again not to this hotel. Maybe if you get a better room your review maybe better. We will be back to Skiathos later this year again

Our 3rd one night overnight stay, in transit back from Skopelos to England next day. Basically, it's a good hotel, not luxurious, but very comfortable, with friendly/helpful staff. This time there'd been horrendous storms and much rain, which continued throughout the night, and it took 3 room changes to get us a room that wasn't flooded, apart from the bathroom, but that got sorted by the use of plenty of additional towels to soak up the water streaming through the air vent onto the floor. The provision of a cleaner's bucket to catch it also helped. They did their best in difficult circumstances.

During our stay we experienced three standard rooms. The first room we were allocated, was spacious (a good thing) but empty of furnishings, looked little like the photos publicised and had problems with the air-conditioning unit. After complaining, we were told that no other rooms were available and at 2am the next morning, it completely broke tripping the room's power. Thankfully, we were offered another standard room for one night only (after being told nothing was available) which was a vast improvement on the first but in need of renovation. The next morning and after speaking to the hotel manager, a third standard room became available. Third time lucky! This room was in a much better condition and as I understand it, recently partly renovated. After a bad start, we were finally able to enjoy our holiday. The hotel boasts great sea views and is well located on the island but disappointingly over priced for the condition of some of the standard rooms available.

i really lucked out finding this place. i met a british couple who had been coming to the island for 5 years until they found it and were impressed, slightly jealous, i found it on my first trip to the island. the taxi driver from the port knew exactly were it was or you can take the bus to stop #12 and walk up the hill about 10mins. i ended up staying an extra two nights because i didn't want to leave. the staff was extremely accommodating to my indecisiveness. i highly recommend you stay at least three nights. you can take the bus back to the port for a boat cruise to the various beaches and islands only accessible by boat. i recommend for a cool, chill time taking eleni boat cruise. the staff is very nice. i liked that they didn't use megaphones that would otherwise sound intrusive and interrupt your experience. back to the hotel there are beaches on either side. i preferred the one on the left facing the ocean but they are both nice. you must go to the seafood restaurant around the bend to the left. ask the staff. it's amazing! you should definitely take the bus on the main road to the left and explore the other beaches. take it to the last stop (24). there are three. i met such wonderful people at the hotel pool bar and the bartender cedo is the man!!!! he truly made the experience for all the guests 1000% better with his positive attitude and endless jokes. he truly rocks! the hotel wasn't a party hotel or a kid hotel. it was right in the middle and was awesome

The hotel is perched up on a cliff and the views were simply spectacular. The staff were really helpful. It's a stones throw from two lovely quiet beaches and there are 3 good tavernas within a 5/10 min walk. The room we had was large and very clean. We had a great view from our balcony. It's not luxury or super up to date but it suited us as we weren't planning on being in the room much. The bar/breakfast/pool area was great and chedos the barman was really great to chat to and gave us tips etc on where to go/avoid. It was really peaceful and quite often we would only be with another couple or two by the pool or at the bar, which again suited us. It was our first trip but based on the hotel and the island we will definitely return. I'm sure there are much more luxurious hotels but the position of this hotel and the staff were 5 star!

Our room was very nice with a beautiful view of the sea. Good size as well. Minor maintenance problem but solved quickly. Sink seemed to have saltwater coming out of it.....was about 10 min walk to decent beach...rough climbing up. Biggest problem is if you don't have a vehicle. About 20min walk to bus station, no big deal since bus is supposed to run every 15 to 20 minutes. Problem being they were always full so we got skipped. Waited an hour one time, usually about 40 minutes just to get to town or a different beach

We went to Skiathos for a family Wedding and wanted to be out of the town but easy reach. This worked: we strolled down to adjacent beach and caught the water taxi across the bay most days - beautiful 20 min trip. If we came back late a taxi cost about 10 euro, or there was the bus which carried on along the length of the island. The hotel has a great view of the bay and the islands especially from the terrace around the pool where the bar is. gorgeous place for breakfast and staff are so friendly and helpful. The pool is good to swim in but nearby beach with taverna is better (5 minute walk). The hotel structure is ok but the odd corner of corridors are still building. Room was nice spacious clean, en suite likewise but shower a bit awkward till we got the hang of it. Again lovely staff sorted any slight glitch. Would go there again (as a lot of of other guests obviously have).

We just stayed here three night's but wished it was longer. Well placed for the beach and local restaurants, easy to get into Skiathos Town by taxi boat or bus. Hotel staff very welcoming.Just a few minutes (and a few more steps!) down to the beach where there is a great little dive shop ... Manthos can show you the other Skiathos. We stayed right at the beginning of the season (May) and the island was just waking up ... but no complaints there. Would absolutely stay here again.

The double room was spacious enough and had a big balcony overlooking the sea. Really liked that. The guy running the bar was very friendly and served some great cocktails. Only complain was the weak wifi signal inside the room.
