A Wonderful Stay at Kamares Villas, Mani We spent three delightful nights at Kamares Villas, just outside Gythio. Designed by an architectural firm in Athens, the villas are inspired by the historic tower houses of the Mani region. The thoughtful layout features individual apartments on two levels, each with its own forecourt and private verandah. All the rooms are spacious and luxuriously appointed, with crisp bedding, immaculate cleanliness, and soft, fresh towels replenished daily. The villas are run with great care and professionalism by the owners, whose warm oversight sets the tone for a relaxing stay. Each morning, we were treated to superb breakfasts prepared by the loveliest cook (I regret not catching her name). Every dish and cake was crafted with evident care and pride — and we shared many laughs as I tried to guess the ingredients of her delicious Greek pies and local delicacies. Our culinary conversations, mostly conducted through gestures, facial expressions, and Google Translate, brought us real joy. One highlight was learning about a local herb amusingly called the “two-faced fool,” said to mimic other flavours — I was convinced I tasted dill! Gythio itself is a lively town with plenty of cafes and restaurants, and Kamares Villas is ideally located for exploring the dramatic landscapes and traditional villages of the Deep Mani peninsula. We left feeling rested, well-fed, and warmly looked after — highly recommended.

Great place, among olive trees and in a very convenient location. We stayed at a sea view suite that was really spacious and could easily fit a family. Everyone from the hotel was very polite and helpful and the breakfast was full of handmade options. The road to the hotel is not ideal but this is an overall area challenge which you can easily get used to. We definitely recommend Kamares !

Very nice, new building. Generously sized room with access to a shared terrace (though laid out to be semi-private). High quality materials and furniture, efficient air con, very nice linen. Decent breakfast. Good beaches within a very short drive, nice quiet olive grove location. A few negatives: the bug screen on the terrace doors was broken, some weird design decisions here and there. No evening catering options, very limited English spoken. Wifi a bit patchy. Overall however, we felt it offered excellent value for money and would book again. Definitely if they decide to build a pool.

A great place to unwind and be quiet away from the crowds. Surrounded by olive groves and just 10 minutes walk from a long beach. Staff friendly, breakfast good. Only slight niggle was sound insulation between rooms. If you get noisy neighbours it can be frustrating. Otherwise a great place and thoroughly recommend it. Classic Mani stone built architecture.

In a remote rustic area of he Peloponnese the facilities were brand new and lovely. Excellent breakfast included. The only downside was I wish there was a swimming pool. However Kameres beach was only 5 minutes away.and very quaint and lovely.. It was also about a 20 minute drive to the port of Gythio. Gythio has good restaurants, nightlife and the famous Mavrovouni beach which has a blue flag rating. There is also a ferry from Gythio that goes to the island of Crete overnight at a reasonable price.

Kamares Villas Boutique was absolutely amazing! The room was spacious for a family of four and beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. The staff was so incredibly kind and helpful with travel in the area and breakfast was plentiful, tasty and with good variety. Our GPS didn't recognize the location but we found it by substituting the hotel name for another. You can drive in to the hotel using two different roads, the one further from Vathi is less narrow. You definitely need a car. The area of the hotel is quiet and close to restaurants or the town of Gytheio. We loved it here and would love to come again.
