This property is dated that is true but in such a chic sort of way - it is set in the most beautiful grounds and the staff were so friendly and helpful. There was a bus stop right outside that was easy to navigate and took you to the main attractions, Rhodes, Lindos, Seven Spring and numberous beaches. This is the first time we have stayed all-inclusive but it seemed to give plenty of choice, it is true you get what you pay for but I think this was spot on! If you don't mind a green bathroom and smaller than average shower then this definitely fits the bill :)
We stayed for two weeks as a family of four.
Nicos at the pool bar, george at the main one, and anastasia who does so much to keep the hotel going, were all first class hosts
The gardens, pool, and other facilities are first class! Despite the hotel being full, due to the amount of space in the gardens, it really did feel that you had lots of time, space, and shade to yourself.
It’s on a main road, so the bus routes are very easy to access along with the beach which is about 15 minutes walk. Afandou village has restaurants, convenience, stores, and a range of other facilities, including a road train that takes you down to the sea.
Where food is concerned, the main meals always have a range of items, including vegetarian, options, salad and fruit. Our children are quite particular about food and fussy and there were always options for them. There are a number of local tavernas around and nearby the hotel, and in particular I would recommend one, catholiki, about a 15 minute walk away, but very traditional and local food.
It is a very chilled out, quiet and gorgeous venue. The accommodation is clean and spacious with balconies. A real mix of visitors from all over Europe, particularly.
If you are after lots of entertainment and club style events, this is not the place for you, although it is easy to get to those kind of places either on the bus or by taxi, around 10 to 15 minutes.
The atmosphere is a Dilick. Football, table tennis, etc.
Absolutely lovely grounds and pool. The food was great and we never tired of it. The wine was not so great but that didn't spoil our stay at all. The animal sanctuary beside the hotel was a wonderful addition and something that made us smile everyday. The staff were helpful, especially when one of our party suffered from a sprained ankle during our stay. The location is a little out of the way, but Afandou beach was easy to get to and the bus stop is right outside to take you to the north or south of the island. I would recommend the hotel.
