Blue Roatan Resort

Considering all the good reviews for Blue Roatan, I was terribly disappointed in the customer service, and moved to a different hotel after 1 night. First, the forgot us at the airport for pickup. They had messaged on Whatsapp in the morning, WHILE we were on the plane, even though provided flight arrival info previously. 2 hr later, after calling, we are picked up, then just dropped at our room.....no information, no greeting, no checkin....and told the restaurant is not open tonight, and only thing around is Ibagari (expensive place) to eat. Room didnt look like what booked, although it was a very nice room. To go to dinner, had to walk down a steep incline on a road, with no lights. Then had to walk up it after dinner, again no lighting. There are supposed to be a tuk-tuk, but dont see anything around. And there was no info given, or if there was a reception...apparently it too was closed. TV did not work, didnt know if we could use the pool attached. They said they would see us in the morning. Then the shower had no hot water! We let them know we walked down again to the beach club, where we got breakfast....no contact. So then finally spoke to someone and all they would offer in another room. And didnt really want to keep our business or make us happy with our stay. Although the room was very nice, bed comfortable, we decided to book another place, closer to West Bay. Would not recommend this hotel.

The people of Roatan were so customer service focused but NOT the Blue Roatan. We booked an oceanview room for 19 days and due to renovations, the hotel changed us to a jungle condo up the hill but we would get a "private pool"(until a few days later when someone else moved in as well). WE MADE A BIG MISTAKE. LEARN FROM US AND NEVER BOOK ANYWHERE FOR ANY MORE THAN A WEEK. This place is very remote so unless you've got tons of money to spend eating at a the other few hotels on the beach don't come here!!. Expedia told us, hold your booking if your not happy when you get to the property call us...we've got a case number started. We trusted them both!! Day 1 we contacted Expedia about our dissatisfaction as well as the Hotel. My stayed 4 nights but had to fly home as my partner was sick. We didn't get cleaning or clean towels till day 3. We lost over $2,000 because the Blue Roatan refused to refund even a portion of our money. And Expedia took no ownership for telling us they had our back months before our arrival. From the check-in with reception was horrible. She was unfriendly, did not even greet us or welcome us. Charged our stay incorrectly and had to do a refund and new charge. Asked her about tours and such and she points to a picture with a few things, no info. How to get on a tour or such. We had to pull everything out of her answers were zero. She then wants to put us on a ground floor room on the corner of the building where foot traffic would be going by and could look in the room directly and we had no view, would have needed to keep curtains, blinds down and the room would have become a dark cave. Asked for another room and at first she tried to say the resort was hooked up and it was not. We were the only guests. Then she said give her and hour and she would see what she could do. We went to the onsite bar restaurant and had a drink and we then went back to her at reception and she said she had a different room. This was on the 1st floor and would do for us. We then went back to the bar area and were told the beach restaurant was closing in 20 mins. A Thursday evening and they close at 5:00pm? We were told oh you can eat here at the bar we were sitting and we said no, we had no interest in paying for the expensive facility. No other options except two other hotels

Staff was helpful and friendly. The resort isn’t set up like typical hotels. I was expected a hotel room but ended up with an apartment unit that can sleep 6 people. The unit was nice, comfortable and well maintained. The resort is situated on hills but they offer transportation around the resort to your rooms and restaurants. The food on the resort is good. If you eat at the beach club be prepared to fight the flies for your dinner. The hotel does have docks if you’re taking a water taxi back.

Cozy setting & a wonderful view from the rooftop, with a beach club in a quiet & fancy area compare to other beaches. Preferably for people travelling by car, renting a scooter or willing to be isolated; otherwise, restricted mobility. Confy and spacious rooms. Communication by Whatsapp mainly late evening since there is no one at reception at all times. Not recommended to check in on Mondays; limited food options in situ & restricted mobility from / to the beach club late evening & night as well on Mondays. Helpful staff requesting water taxis for guests. Tours available.

Beautiful!!!! The property was unique…not directly on the beach, but such beautiful surroundings and an incredible view of the ocean! We easily hopped on a tuk-tuk to go to beach club and back. Service by all staff was amazing! We especially loved Jack at the beach club!!

The hotel has an amazing selection of food (tasty, perfectly presented and crafted), drinks (quality on every sip), and a service to match it all. The rooms were detailed to match the Caribbean chill vibe with a great taste in artwork. I have to point out again the AMAZING service, the staff makes the stay that much enjoyable with a service that is second to none.

The property is so cute, the rooms sit up on a hill and the beach is down below. They have golf carts to take you to and from, which is so helpful. You can walk along the beach about 30 minutes to west bay which has great restaurants and beach clubs!

It is a beautiful place and very romantic. Very clean and well kept.

Beautiful and lovely place and the staff were so great especially Jack at the beach club restaurant he was super helpful and helpful my group have an awesome experience the members of the kitchen and bar in azul restaurant were also great

I loved the privacy of this hotel. It was intimate, quiet and only a few minutes away from exciting West End. The staff was unbelievable, they went above and beyond to accommodate us. I would definitely go back.

We absolutely loved this resort. It’s a beautiful property. Service was fantastic down at the beach club our server Jack took great care of us with a smile everyday. Bar service at Azul was amazing. Omg, The chef made incredible food(get the shrimp aioli pasta). Bartender crafted delicious drinks & specialty shots & the server was attentive and friendly throughout our whole stay. Cleaning ladies did amazing job attending our room when we asked. Even the grounds keeper was out there every morning making sure to keep the greenery here beautiful. I contacted them ahead of time to schedule my shuttle picked up at airport and they were on time. Breakfast was fresh made to order and was delicious. You can even enjoy complimentary paddle boarding and kayaking. I brought my own snorkel and snorkeled off the boat deck and loved it. If you want to go out at night, just ask the server for a water taxis WhatsApp information & you can be in West Bay in no time.

Manager was very nice, the AC on the original room didn’t work and he changed us to a nicer room after complaining twice. The Nature View room did not have a balcony, as shown in the pictures. It was a very small room. However the second room we were given was very nice with a lot of space and ocean views and a lot more comfortable. Staff were very helpful and attentive. The Beach Club was also very nice although a little far from the rooms. The hotel restaurant Azul disappointed us, we had been there a couple years back and it used to be a lot better. We also had some issues while coordinating the transportation to and from the airport. Don’t expect 5-star quality amenities like extra towels or room service. Location is good, the beach is not that nice but you are just a quick water taxi ride to West Bay or West End. The good thing is that this beach is not as crowded. It is surrounded by other boutique hotels and some of the nicer restaurants in the island. Overall it is a nice and quiet hotel but only worth it if you get one of the larger rooms.

Stunning property! Loved our stay and wished we could have stayed here longer! The infinity pool was great. The food at the Beach House and Azul was so good.
