Adagio Hostel Basilica

I would suggest to add extra curtains around the bed, as every time someone moved about or turned on the light, it was fully visible and disturbed my sleep (usually I have a sleep mask, but lost it a few days prior to my stay so it was very noticeable that a section of the curtain was missing. It would also be helpful, if there was a ramp for the staircase, and made some adjustments for the elevator. I was travelling with two large suitcases, and I could barely manage to get upstairs.

It is in an old building, the rooms are big with high ceilings and big windows, it can be noisy if windows are open. Very good location, in closest proximity to transportation and points of interest. The beds are comfortable and all them have a privacy curtain. The bathrooms and facilities were clean and well maintained.

Good functional hostel. A bit noisy at times but that is to be expected. Overall very good.

Staff is very helpful, rooms are comfortable and nice common kitchen area. Nice to hang out and get to meet fellow travelers.

Great location, clean and good check in/out. Can store your luggage no problems. Not super social but also not super loud or disruptive either.

The room had a balcony, it was clean and the hostel is conveniently located at the center of Budapest.

Was put in the loft which was super high, only accessible by a super steep ladder. Did not book that and was not asked. The entrance to getting to the hostel is also not very inviting, pitch black hallways and very spooky feeling at night when you don’t know the area. Only plus is the location

The hostel is more motivated towards the money, rather than providing the comfort. The beds aren’t clean and the insects on the bed will hurt very badly. And no response from the reception for the complaint of the same. Bed numbers 9 and 10 are on the top with the very steep iron steps, and this doesn’t make sense to put the beds over there just to make more money. I felt terrible

Good size room and the location is great. The hostel is very basic, but it is a good cost/benefit overall

This location is prime! great value for a night stay, right in the middle of the main sights. The hostal is well looked after and plenty of space to prepare meals. Nice view from the balcony. Defintiely super affordable. Note that this is next to Thai Hotel as sometimes it not very clear when you are looking for the address.

Well b4 i booked i sent 2 msgs for the hostel informing them that im taking a 6 hrs bus to budapest all night and i will be arriving arnd 6:30am.the replies were thats fine you can use the common areas until check in time which was at 2.I was fine with it.I arrived that day arnd that time btw 6-6:30 it was -7 dgrs outside very freezing empty strts! "night shift guy" answrd then he let me enter the premises when i got to the floor lights were off he was probably sleeping stood and gave me that weird look and telling me " what do you want?" i said i have a reservation and i knw the check in is@ 2 he said yes and you can't stay here the common areas dont open before 8 ! Which is weird they are supposed to be open 24/7. If he wanted to sleep and didnt feel like working then thats a problem ! My phone battery was almost 5% to navigate for an open place at this time .he literally just snatched my luggages out of my hand and said you can keep them here and go i said where would i go at this early hr he said i dont know im confused( i dont knw whats confusing about that!) . I asked him if i could at least use the bathroom. Then i left it was still dark outside with no phone navigation no nothing .i found a nearby costa place which had opened i think i spent arnd 3 hrs sipping tea im glad they ddnt kick me out.i came back at 4 pm everyone was wonderfulll super nice lovely rooms/cmn areas met great people spent the night and left the other day.this review is only based on the rude guy

The location, reception desk and the kitchen were amazing. I was able to store my food in the fridge safely and to enjoy my breakfast while watching the great view. However I am not satisfied with my bed and the smell in the bathrooms. First I was not sure but after having red dots all around my ankles and hands, I made sure that I got bit by bed bugs. Before I had booked my stay, I read a similar review about this issue but I thought it was one unlucky case. Unfortunately it happened to me too. I hope they fix this problem cause it’s somewhere that one can want to stay whenever s/he travels to Budapest, which I do quite often.

everything would be perfect if their shower room has no time limit ( press button once, only 5 seconds water)

Highly recommended on all areas. Reception staff really helpful as well.
