If you book here, you will receive check in instructions via email - which likely will go to your spam, so check there! I didn't and ended up disturbing a lovely woman and her very cute dog around 9pm because we didn't know how to check in. When we got into the cabin, we were happy with it and it was comfortable. My only recommendation is to have a shade on the bathroom window because the decorative curtain didn't necessarily give enough privacy for me. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone going through the area!

Great family cottage just north of Rekjavik with full kitchen and great view. Opaque shades and curtain at bunk bed let in too much light for a good night’s sleep.

The guesthouse was extremely accessible, easy to access with zero contact, and a great size to stay the night and make meals. The location was quiet at night. Some crucial downfalls for us were that the small bathroom window, which has the shower directly next to it, had no covering on it and looked out to where people parked and another guesthouse was. Whenever showering we had to cover it with a tshirt to avoid potential people. In addition, the door to the guesthouse didn’t lock easily and you have to push in and lift up aggressively to lock it, there was no note of this so we had to locate someone the first time. You can see visible wear on the handle from consistent struggle. In addition to these bigger issues the smaller issues include lack of proper kitchen items (no proper chopping knives, and no pans in with the pots). The bed duvets weren’t proper sizes for the beds. Most notably they don’t have full black out blinds. 3/4 windows have true blackout blinds rendering them pointless as it remains bright all night from the lack of the one.

The directions to enter the cottage were easy to follow and understand. It was nice to have a close designated parking space. This small cottage (#3) has a double bed in a curtained off area with a single bed above it. The sofa folds out into a large bed. The curtain separating the sleeping area was see-through so I wasn't able to use it as a place to change clothing. (With 4 people in the room, it would have been nice to have a place to change clothes instead of waiting for availability of bathroom) The shades in the cabin were not black out shades so I was happy that we had our eye masks with us. The mirror in the bathroom was so high on the wall that I was only able to see my forehead. I am 5'1". The toilet paper didn't have a holder in the bathroom so the roll of toilet paper would roll off the back of the toilet and end up on the floor very frequently. We had to put the duvet covers on the duvets and all the sheets on the bed. This was an ok place to stay.

Beautiful property, albeit much farther from Reykjavik. The cottages were very small, though, for a family of four. Bathroom was especially tiny and at times didn’t have hot water and not even bath soap (only a shampoo). But the owners were lovely and even gave us free eggs from their chickens on the property. We enjoyed our stay overall.

The location was so beautiful, and the cabin was super cute we loved it. Our only negative on this location was the bedding was expected to be put on the beds, I am fine with this, but the duvet covers were still damp from the laundry, and I was too tired to deal with the struggles of putting on two covers, so we used our own blanket since we traveled with one.

We needed a quiet cosy place to stay and this was perfect for that. It would be rather small for a family of 4 but for the 3 of us it was perfect. There are only couple of things we would like to improve to make it even better. Crockery and plates need updating there was a plate chipped around the corner. There is no wardrobe so perhaps finding a way to fit in a wardrobe would make things a lot easier as we had to use our suitcases as wardrobes. There is no TV which is advertised and I am not sure where would you put it given the small space. If you want your entertainment bring your iPad etc. there was an issue with electrics and it was attended immediately by the electrician. The care taker lives on site in a different cottage and is very kind and helpful.

Moar Cottages are great value for money and were so much better than expected. We had cabin 1 and it had enough room to comfortably sleep 5 adults. It was warm and clean. There was a dining area, sofa, fully equipped kitchen with coffee machine and coffee, toaster, hob and all equipment. The shower was hot and towels and handwash and shampoo were supplied. Could not fault it. Would highly recommend it if you’re hiring a car to explore. 5 Stars.

Perfect for us. So long as you are okay with simple this place is perfect. It could be a tiny bit cleaner but I’m being really fussy. It has everything you need. Wish we could have seen it in the daylight. Definitely need a car, which we knew and had. Was a good base to do the golden circle
