Hotel Hridey Dx

This hotel is located close to the railway station but in the middle of slums with people sleeping on the narrow paths. The room itself was clean to Indian standards. Not suitable at all for western guests.Backpackers with a tight budget may feel comfortable. The staff is very helpful. There is no breakfast room and the space in our room was very limited to sit and have the meals served in the room.

Coming from a European background we found the location as well as the cleanliness of the rooms shocking. As our days were fully planned outside the hotel, we decided to bear it than move to another hotel. This hotel is for guests from the region who are used to such conditions. The staff was the best making every effort to keep you happy. The Air con can be switched off from the office and at 6am they did it once and did not repeat thereafter after I had a strong word with the manager. The bed sheets were stained and we found human hair on it. The Blanket is without a cover and reused without laundering. There is no room to sit and have a meal. The room service is good. The breakfast is just enough to get the day started.Cockroaches come out from nowhere and you should keep your toiletries zipped during the night. There is no warm water in the shower which needs a good cleanup. This applies to the complete hotel. I doubt that even one of the staff had ever seen a Hotel school nor had any training in such. Ideal for backpackers on a tight budget. We overpaid the room compared to the star classed hotels that you can book after arrival for much less.
