Check-in was almost midnight and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was peaceful. I chose a family room; it was very spacious. I got two double beds, which could sleep four people. The price was around 250,000 Rupiah. The AC was cool, the bathroom was clean and spacious, and there was a water heater. I think this accommodation will be my choice if I return to Madiun. Perfect!

Affordable hotel but not cheap. There are AC, LCD TV, wifi, water heater on 24h in the room. The room is also quite spacious. In front of the room, on each floor there are 1 or even 2 water dispensers for refilling water or making coffee/tea. In the room there are also glasses, coffee, tea, and sugar that can be enjoyed and brewed with a dispenser. Every morning, the hotel also provides breakfast: there is fried rice, white rice, soup, Madiun pecel, omelettes, and others. The staff is also very friendly, always greeting and smiling to visitors. The location is also close to the Great Mosque of Madiun and the Madiun square. Close to laundry and many food vendors around the square. The point is highly recommended to stay here.

Discovering Pilangkenceng: A Unique Indonesian Sojourn for Global Explorers

Pilangkenceng, a region within Indonesia, offers a distinct flavour of Indonesian life that appeals to travellers seeking authenticity beyond the well-trodden paths. While Indonesia is celebrated for its diverse islands and vibrant cultures, Pilangkenceng provides a more intimate glimpse into East Javanese life, characterized by its agricultural landscapes and a slower pace that allows for genuine connection. For international visitors, it presents an opportunity to experience local traditions, sample regional cuisine, and explore a less commercialized side of the archipelago, making it a compelling alternative to more tourist-heavy destinations.

The character of Pilangkenceng is not monolithic; it unfolds across its various neighbourhoods, each offering a unique atmosphere and set of experiences. From the bustling commercial hubs like Manguharjo to the more tranquil residential areas in Taman, and the emerging districts in Kartoharjo and Geger, the choice of where to base yourself significantly shapes your journey. Another local specialty is *Sate Ayam Madura*, succulent grilled chicken skewers marinated in a rich peanut sauce, a dish that showcases the region's grilling expertise. For those seeking something heartier, *Rawon*, a dark, rich beef soup seasoned with *keluak* nuts, offers a unique and deeply savoury experience that is a true taste of East Java.

For an authentic dining experience, exploring the local *warungs* (small eateries) and street food stalls is highly recommended. Areas around local markets, such as those found in the Kartoharjo and Taman districts, are prime spots for sampling a variety of local delicacies at incredibly affordable prices. For Muslim travellers, finding Halal food is generally straightforward in Pilangkenceng, as Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim country. Most eateries will clearly indicate if their food is Halal, and dishes prepared with local ingredients are typically safe.

Entering Indonesia to Visit Pilangkenceng: Visa Essentials

For Philippine passport holders planning a trip to Pilangkenceng, understanding Indonesia's visa policy is crucial. As of current regulations, Filipino citizens can enter Indonesia for tourism purposes visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. It is always recommended to verify the latest visa-free entry conditions with the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in the Philippines before your travel dates, as policies can be subject to change.

The visa-free entry for Philippine passport holders typically requires a passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay and proof of onward travel, such as a return or onward flight ticket. While no specific visa fee is associated with this visa-free entry, ensure your passport has sufficient blank pages for entry and exit stamps.
