We had five nights at Griya Santrian in late October 2024, and we really enjoyed it. We had a deluxe room near the Tropical (Middle) Pool, but we also looked at standard rooms and they were fine too. Breakfast in the beachside terrace room was very good, with excellent staff and service. The main beachfront pool was an excellent social focus, and we met lots of people from around the world. There were a lot of Western Europeans staying there. The location is excellent, almost exactly in the 'middle' of Sanur, half way along the 7 km boardwalk. We could stroll from the resort to literally dozens of warungs and restaurants every evening for dinner. Supermarkets were close too, as was the new Icon Bali Mall. The beach in front of the hotel was nice, although Sanur Beach as a whole isn't great for swimming. We swam mostly in the three hotel pools. Wi-Fi was good, although it could be slow in the late afternoon. TV reception was below par, with a fuzzy weak signal, and it needs upgrading to modern standards. Overall, we loved staying at the Griya Santrian and would readily stay there again. Recommended for seniors, couples, and families with kids, although there is no kids pool or kids club.

Property with a lot of potential, however half of the resort is under renovation through to end of December 2025, with noisy construction work next to all pools and close to rooms. Breakfast had an ok range of food, but quality was subpar (some of the worst coffee). Other than that, cannot fault the hotel, service was excellent, the location is very convenient, with direct beach access from the beautiful promenade, and very close to the giant new ICON mall. I imagine that the newer room types will be worth the stay once construction is complete, but for now I'd avoid staying here until January 2026 unless they significantly drop prices.

As of November 2025, there is quite a bit of building work going on at the hotel, and the noise could be heard from our room. The rooms are adequate but a little tired, with rather small bathrooms. The hotel is located in a part of Sanur that is mostly occupied by other hotels, so it’s a fairly long walk to reach the beach bars and restaurants. The beach in front of the hotel is very shallow and not ideal for swimming. Its not good value for money and twice as expensive as the Holiday Inn which has nicer rooms and does an excellent breakfast.
