The room was very cramped, not a hotel, more like a boarding house for one person. There was no telephone. It turned out the hotel room was shared with the neighboring apartment. The neighbors' noise could be heard coming into the room. The hotel room was only on the 20th floor. There was no telephone. There was no Wi-Fi. Even cell phone reception was difficult to get. If anything happened, the hotel room occupants would be in a very dangerous position and would be unable to contact the hotel.
