You get what you pay for. This place is budget accommodation at a budget price. The great points are its location. It’s in a great location close to the beach close to shopping close to food. The bad points are the condition in cleanliness of the property. This is an old property and it’s really showing its age and unfortunately the owners of elected to not make up for in any way it’s age. I found the restaurant and bar staff to be exceptional. Customer service was fantastic. The guest services staff particularly reception was poorly lacking. On the second night of my stay, I found my room to be infested with some type of bull ants. There were hundreds of them coming up from the plumbing in the bathroom. I contacted guest services has asked them to come take a look and relocate me. They said that they would get me some spray. There were hundreds of ants around one and a half to 2 cm long crawling all over the floor and furniture in the room. I explained that getting me some spray wasn’t gonna be enough. They just had to relocate me to another room on the property. To which the gentleman said. “ I thought we were friends.” having never met this man before I simply explained we weren’t friends that I was guest in the hotel and I needed a non-infested room. At that point they relocated me. The next day my room key stopped working for some reason and when I went to reception to have it reprogrammed they wanted to charge me a $10 fee to reprogram my room key.

Great value based on the price. The rooms are old and tired with some marks that look like mould and rust but might be mostly age related. The first room I was shown smelled like it had been locked up for ages. As I have allergies I asked to see another room and was taken to the. One across the road and down a lane off Gaelic lane. This was better for me. I felt safe (traveling alone) there was a guard at the top of the road that led to a courtyard so traffic was minimal. Breakfast was basic but fulfilling. What can you expect for the $50 a night I paid. If you’re on a budget it’s great but if you are a clean freak it might not suit. From what I could tell it was clean just didn’t look it due to age marks. Staff were friendly and helpful. Vocation amazing. Everything you need without about 200 metres, beach, day spas, restaurants, shopping

Staff are good but the room itself was in a very poor state and desperately in need of refurbishment. Furniture was old and fragile, TV was a tiny computer monitor, bathroom leaked, tiles were old and broken. Definitely not 4.5* or remotely close to the pictures on the website. It's cheap but the reason is obvious once you enter the room.
