Great room, service, staff. It's a hidden gems/speakeasy that a bit far away from the city center but you will get the calm and peace staying here. There is no proper street/road going down to the hotel area so you have to walk through a bit of jungle but it's worth it.

This was a beautiful stay in a family run beach side hotel. Our hosts were so friendly, food was great and the view was fabulous. Make sure you follow the instructions to contact the hotel before you turn up! Theres a fabulous way of getting there by boat or else you have to do what we did (as we didnt read the very clearly worded instructions) and you have to trek down the hill!

A beautiful setting with a nice pool. If you are sensitive to road noise, you may have issues as it begins at 6am with scooters flying down the road right behind the bungalows. Great jungle view!!!

Go by boat! As other have said the walk from the road to the hotel is pretty brutal.. its not actually that far but you do have to be fit and sure-footed due to how steep and loose the surface is... the hotel staff are amazing, views amazing, snorkeling is pretty good off the clean beach. They offer a boat taxi and can organise a car taxi (scooter taxis are most common) to pick you up.. this makes the walk a lot easier as the reception is literally on the beach... Id happily stay here again and would recommend to anyone with reasonable fitness levels. All rooms and cabins are up the pretty steep hill. So be aware before booking.

Fabulous hotel This was our second stay. A litte out of town which makes it calm and quiet. In a natural setting with stylish rustic rooms that are very comfortable. The restaurant provides REALLY good local food at very affordable prices. The staff are really good at organising transport and excursions and they organised some great trips for us. The staff are low key but are really efficient and helpful. The hotel is within a short walk of the sun rise and sunset lookouts which are spectacular. Only consideration is that the hotel is built on the side of a steep hill so there are lots of steps. This gives great ocean views so view the hill as a challenge and some exercise.

Staff were courteous and very helpful. Guest should be warned that most rooms need to be reached through many stairs - equivalent to 12-15 flights of stairs. In hot weather, that is very unpleasant. The road to town is even higher up - perhaps the equivalent of 30 flights of stairs. There is access via motorboat to an adjacent resort, from which taxis can be taken - but that is more expensive.

The manager was kind and willing to help, but the hotel is really in an inconvenient location, far from the center which is a bit complicate to reach ( boat+ taxi or climb up to the road 10 m and then taxi / 150000 idr one way). The beach isn't nice, even if on this island are all like that, even the beach of the Ayana. They could keep it cleaner though. In the morning there is low tide so even to take a small boat you have to walk for a while in the muddy puddles left by the low tide. There are no amenities nearby such as  alternative restaurants or travel agencies to organize tours, so you have to organize them with the hotel with no room for price negotiation. The restaurant isn't great. Food is average. The worst thing is that you only have Wi-Fi at the reception, not in the rooms, for only 3 hs a day from 6 to 9 pm. The architecture of the huts and of the hotel is original and traditional, but the various huts are built up the hill, which means lots of steps to reach the top ones. Initially we were given the 2 top rooms (superior) which have no balcony or patio and the very top one has no proper see view, only from one angle. We booked 2 rooms with balcony, so we asked to change the rooms. They offered 2 connecting family rooms for a surcharge of 200000 idr per room per night ( these are considered deluxe rooms not superior). Despite we complained that we were supposed to get 2 rooms with balconies and see view, we took the family rooms as more suitable for our needs.

Fantastic location, with a wonderful, panoramic view of the bay. Truly awesome. Great snorkeling straight off the beach. very pleasant, helpful and friendly staff. The young man greeting people should be working at a large New York hotel making big money... he's just so good !! Had a small problem with the plumbing - fixed it in no time. Only one negative - if it was my hotel, I'd petition the local council to seal the road leading to the place by land. The property can be reached by boat - OK, but if you happen to be returning by night and it has been raining - it can be a big problem getting there especially as there is no lights along the road. Hey - the Indo elections are just around the corner !!

The hotel-provided access to the town is extremely expensive, for a two day hotel-town transportation provided by the hotel you could have an extra night there. To get to a road you either have to get a water taxi or to climb up lots of steps and a steep path - keep that in mind if you travel with children or have any kind of disability. I would rather call it „bungalows for rent with a reception and restaurant downstairs” than a hotel. The property is maintained well. The staff - extremely helpful. The view - amazing. If it wasn’t for the incredibly high price for the town and airport shuttle, i would probably give ot the highest note.

If you want to just stay at the hotel and not go on any day trips, then this is the hotel for you. However, would still NOT recommend this hotel. Most tour companies won't pick you up here and taxis won't take you as there is no paved road to get to the hotel...not sure if they're in the process of paving it or not, looked like that might be the case. I rented a motorbike/scooter and it was treacherous due to the rocky conditions of the dirt roads (see pictures). It is also a ten minute hike up to the dirt road from the hotel. Takes about 20-30 minutes from hotel on scooter. Hotel offers a "free shuttle boat" but only to drop you at the resort next door so you can take a 100,000 IDR taxi to the city and only until 17:00. Please note, hotel staff told me the taxi was 100,000 IDR however, I was charged by the hotel's driver, Alex, 150,000 IDR. For my return shuttle to the airport, I specifically requested, in writing, not to be taken by Alex, but they sent him to take me anyway. The guy has two cellphones that he is constantly answering and calling people, while driving. I did not feel safe, not to mention, he had overcharged me before. The hotel grounds are nice but. Not worth $64 USD/night AT ALL! Hotel staff are nice, however communication is limited and this causes misunderstandings. It was very difficult to deal with the manager as a result. I tried to communicate my misgivings and even sent emails instead, in hopes we could communicate in writing w/google translate

Loved this hotel and would recommend it. The staff were wonderful and the food was cheap and the menu had lots of choices. I read a lot of negative comments from other guests, but i can't fault my experience.

The amazing view! The cottage very confortable, the young employees so professional. Pascal and Ronald were very helpful and always in a good mood. The only thing difficults : the access. Not for disabled at all. 100 hundreds steps to acceed our room! And far from the City Labuan Bajo.

Great location and a treehouse-feel. It was the best hotel in a pristine environment that Inhad so far. Stay in the delux rooms, not the superior....
