Hotel Carullo is situated near the cable car in Malcesine. It is five minutes walk to the cobbled streets in the old part of the town and no more than a few more minutes to the lakeside. Lovely swimming pool and gardens to relax in. Plenty of sun loungers available. There was also a cabin selling drinks and ice creams by the pool, and there was also a gym . Staff very helpful. We had a large bedroom with a mountain view. Breakfast was good.

A really nice, comfortable hotel. It's beautifully decorated with modern amenities and the staff/owners are very attentive. It has a wonderful quite location, a stroll from the hustle of the old town. And located away from the noisy main road. It has a pool and easily accessible parking spaces, which is a must if your travelling by car to Malcesine. I would happily stay again.

Fantastic small privately run and owned hotel. From the start to the finish nothing was too much trouble for the owners. Excellent clean, room with perfect bathroom and balcony overlooking the well kept and stocked gardens. Good choice at breakfast which was taken on the wide sun terrace/patio with both hot and cold choices and with plenty of fresh food from the area, meats, cheeses, fruit, cakes, pastries, biscuits etc. Best hotel coffee ever! Swimming pool and various terraces extremely well catered for with tables, chairs, sunloungers for everyone, no need to reserve! Various areas to sit so that you were not being crowded. Pool was very clean and well maintained, excellent. Hotel is well positioned in a quiet side street but an easy walk into the quaint cobbled town of Malcesine with its superb castle, port, church, restaurants, bars and cable car to the top of Monte Baldo with its tremendous views over Lake Garda. All in all a fabulous hotel in a wonderful location giving a fantastic weeks holiday.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in Malcesine or in the northern area of Lake Garda, Italy. This hotel was fantastic. It is family owned and operated, to include the friendly puppy dog named “Crusca.” The breakfast is better than you traditional / basic European hotel breakfast. This hotel has only 16 rooms which adds to the family type atmosphere. Just a 2 minutes walk to the funivia (funicular) up to Monte Baldo; also just a short 5-minute downhill walk to the castle in Malcesine overlooking the lake. The hotel’s WiFi connection is very good, as well. My only regret is that I didn’t have a few more days to stay here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!!!

This hotel couldn't be bettered for location - it is less than a 5 minute walk to the centre of Malcesine with the cable car station almost next door! However, despite being in the heart of the town, it is wonderfully quiet (although we were the only people staying there at the time). The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and the room/bathroom was spotlessly clean. There was a well-stocked fridge in the room (we weren't sure whether the mini-bar was complimentary even though we couldn't find a price list) but we would have preferred tea/coffee making facilities instead. The shower was the best we've encountered in any hotel in the world, but I found the bed a little hard and the breakfasts were disappointingly simple. These are minor points though - the hotel's good points more than made up for its shortcomings.

the catullo is lovely. The rooms are pretty basic but they are clean and big enough. To be honest you aren't in them much, malcesine is a beautiful town to look around and eat andr ink and when in the hotel the outdoor pool is very nice. There is a gym too and the bar decking area is good. Location wise the catullo is perfect as cars can't go down into the cobbled part of malcesine so the catullo is just off the main road which is good for taxis or cars. Finally the staff are very pleasant and the whole trip was great (and surprisingly didn't break the bank). Highly recommended

I turned up to the hotel to be told that they had no space left for me. This was done in a matter of fact way - no apology and minimal explanation of what the hell happened or what was going on. It was almost like I was an inconvenience. I was asked to pay(!) and told they would take me to an alternative hotel just a few minute walk away with an equivalent room. Fair enough, but if I had wanted to stay in the other hotel, then that's where I'd have stayed! The alternative hotel was fine but this review isn't on that hotel. And neither was my booking.

The owner and his wife were both extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful, and spoke very good English. We were expected by them when we arrived, and shown to our rooms. The rooms are fairly basic, and I must say the two main negatives were the unbelievable firmness of the beds and the fact that the AC only comes on with a timer at certain time in the evening and throughout the night. On the plus side, the pool area was very nice, and as I said in the title the location was excellent. Overall though, for the price I would have expected some sort of four star hotel standard at least, but in reality it's more of a cross between a B&B and a basic hotel.

I was a single traveller coming to Malcesine to be part of a larger wedding group, none of whom were staying at this hotel. Maurizio and Antonella - the owners - could not have been more hospitable and friendly to me. The hotel building is a basic 3 star but its setting in its landscaped grounds and the lovely pool and surrounds makes it feel much much more. The rooms are compact and basic, but perfectly adequate for all travellers, with a reasonable budget. I enjoyed every minute of being in the hotel, and also being in the town of Malcesine. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope that I will bring my wife and children to the hotel the next time I return. I could not say enough with regard the friendliness of the owners and you really feel that you are in their home, which for me is very good.
