this is a cool old hotel... we had a balcony looking out over the black sand beach and could hear the surf all night... it was gorgeous and an easy walk from the train station... also an easy walk to innumerable restaurants and pizza places...

Beautiful property. Cleaning was lacking. Found a butt print on the mirror, a hair in the bed and a bug (not bed bug) in the sheet. The sheets looked clean and we checked thoroughly for bed bugs but it really wasn't that bad. It was the nicest one on the beach. Had a private beach and some better room options we should have chosen for the beautiful view. Restaurant staff was very kind.

This hotel was good for its price. Two bad things and a lot of good. Bad things: 1) there is a ZTL at the end of the street right where hotel is sitting (arguably within the ZTL) DO NOT DRIVE ON THIS YOU WILL BE TICKETED LATER BY MAIL. 2) the beds were extremely uncomfortable- they are old spring mattresses and honestly difficult to sleep on without pain. Good: the hotel was reasonably clean and in an area I felt was safe. It’s convenient to the train to Roma and the staff were all excellent. Everyone was extremely nice and the restaurant food was really good. It’s right on a black sand beach so we were able to walk that in the evenings which was nice.

The property was very nice and convenient to the beach and other areas for night life - if you're into that. The night clerk didn't speak much English, so there was a little challenge getting checked in, but we were able to manage. Everyone was very kind and helpful. They even let us store our bags for a few hours after check out.

Staff is very friendly. I checked in early and was given the room since it was available. The location is excellent as it is close to the beach and a 15-min walk from the train station. The breakfast was good enough but the server was exceptional. The bedroom was comfortable. It didn't have air conditioning but the ceiling fan was adequate, after all, one would want the air from the sea. Having said that, I'd still recommend that this information be clearly stated on Expedia if the room has a/c or not. After all, the guest deserves to know exactly what he's paying for.

On a car trip to Italy. Stayed here on our way back to Rome. Hotel was perfect! Nice classic old building! No on site car parking but you can park in white lined spots on the surrounding streets for free overnight. Breakfast was good and we took our plates along with capacinos to our room and ate on our balcony at our nice table overlooking the sea! Also got a great sunset into the sea the night before from our balcony! Only negative is the area, while on the sea, felt a little past it's prime and kind of ... tired. Eating at the nearby piazza later in the evening was cheap but felt a little edgy. Daytime the area was fine!

This hotel would have been a grand hotel in its day. A great location across the road from the beach but the downside of this, is all the noise from people on the street at night. With no air con in the rooms you are obliged to sleep with the windows open for cooling air. The shower in the room had to be the smallest shower ever - almost like a houdini act, getting in and out and washed in the space. Proportionally the shower matched the small room. In fact, when someone was in bed, it was difficult to walk between the bed and table without hitting the person's feet. Reception people most helpful but outside dining room hours you could get nothing. Lovely waitress doing the breakfasts.

Stayed for 5 nights visiting a family living locally. Room was clean but looked tired. Bed firm but ok when you got used to it. Breakfast. No fresh fruit just tinned. Disappointing. Wanted a toasty for breakfast but the machine wasn't working. They replaced it two days later. Pastries. If you got there in good time there was choice if you arrived late there was usually nothing left. Would not chose to return to this hotel.
