Property is currently undergoing renovations so this limits the outdoor areas to sit to have a drink or eat. Area where breakfast is served is very enclosed. An outdoor area in summer again would have been nice.

I LOVED this place. Property is gorgeous. And the views are beautiful. Reading previous reviews. Now they do have coffee and tea at the reception. Food is delicious. Rooms have A/C. People complaining about outdated looks. It's a building from the 1800s... the idea is to look like that. Rustic, charming. With that old historic character. Plus i loved both roads to going back and from the hotel. One is really really narrown and kind of precarious. Great for fun spirited driving (you need to know what you are doing) the other one (the longer one) it's much much easier but still fun and beautiful. From the road to the food and the Property itself. This place is totally worthy.

Beautiful country property with historical buildings. A friendly greeting from Barbara, the owner, who quickly checked us in and gave us the run down. Spectacular view from our room over the countryside. While the room was spotlessly clean, we thought it was a little dated and tired and could use a freshen up. Shower was tiny (much the same as all the showers around Italy for some reason). No tea/coffee facilities which was disappointing but other than that, the breakfast was good and there is also a new spa where you can have a massage, swim in the indoor pool or have a sauna or Turkish bath. The outdoor pool wasnt open which was a shame. 25 Euro for 3 hours in the spa. Lovely grounds were we sat in the sun with some wine and cheese. All in all a lovely stay.

We stumbled on this sweet country hotel the last night of our road trip through Italy as we dashed up the Autostrade from Florence. Apart from our GPS, programmed to take us the fastest route and yet which had us winding through tiny hilltop “roadways” by the light of a full moon, we found the place easily enough after a call or two to the very helpful front desk. Once checked into a traditional and charming suite we headed across to the secondary building for an amazing and innovative dinner with excellent wine and engaging and attentive staff. By the light of day the next morning we could see the lovely grounds and views across the valley. We were sorry we couldn’t enjoy the spa facilities as we had to head out for Zurich and home, but chances are if we are ever back in this area we will be delighted to check in again!

Where to start, It is at least a 60 Euro taxi ride from the train station but it turned out to be a real high point in our holiday. Yes, the pool area is a little tired but the staff are fantastic, couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. The buildings are from a bye- gone era, which you can imagine in it's hayday as you sit in the garden with a cool glass of wine. Totally relaxing. Without exception the staff were friendly and genuine. We were lucky to be there for Ferragosto, we joined in with the celebration meal which was hosted by the owner and accompanied by piano. ( 6 courses of yummy) If you want to chill out in beautiful surroundings away from it all then pay this place a visit. We went with our 12 year old. The pool, the spa and some exploring kept her happy for the weekend. Breakfast and meals in the restaurant were superb!

The only thing that lets this place down is :- 1. Size of rooms 2. No coffee or tea in rooms, Service is the best you can get and the food in the restaurant is a good representation of the best that Italy can offer. You really should saty here.
