Residenza Porta Guelfa

This was an excellent place to stay during our tour through Umbria. Located perfectly just outside the walls of Bevagna old town. The gardens surrounding the residence are beautifully kept, with green lawns and a sparkling clean pool which was great after an afternoon of exploring. The rooms themselves were huge, with a lounge/dining room and a separate bedroom with comfortable bed. The bathroom was small but clean, but good water pressure and basic toiletries provided. Both air-con and wifi worked well and onsite parking was convenient for us. Customer service was excellent and the addition of a very cute and friendly cat completed the package! We did not eat onsite so cannot comment on food, but overall I consider this property excellent value. Really enjoyed the time here and would happily return.

The hotel manager was top class and greeted us as we drove into the hotel. He was very friendly and helpful and helped with carrying some of the bags. He looked after us very well. The apartment very clean and comfortable and very spacious.

Great B&B in Bevagna! First of all Bevagna is well located in Umbria. Bevagna itself is a great little Umbrian town worth the time to investigate and have a meal or two. Only a short drive to Montefalco (15 min), Assissi (didn't go) and a host of other towns in Umbria. I also selected it because it was very close to Foligno (15 min) and high speed rail connections which we used to go back to Roma. Our principal interest in exploring Umbria was to connect with the wineries, restaurants and local markets -- sort of a culinary vacation. Michele is a fantastic B&B host with plenty of recommendations on places to visit in the area. Some of Umbria's and Montefalco's best wineries are within 10-20 minutes drive of the B&B. Our room had a small seating area, dining, kitchen closet with doors (counter, sink, refrigerator, Nespresso machine), bedroom, bath, A/C. Property has a pleasant little pool for relaxing after a day of exploring (ran into a mosquito issue after the breeze died down and went back inside). Property has good parking and has a security gate - although this appear to be overkill and not needed - the town seemed very friendly. Great value for the price! Only negative - and its small - we had better breakfasts at other B&Bs while visiting on our trip. Breakfast was delivered to our room by Michele, but the pastries and meats, cheeses while very acceptable were not as fresh and delicious as some other places. I would absolutely come back or recommend to friends.
