AB Hotel Nara

Breakfast was excellent, better than some hotel charges $12-15. However, I wished an amenity should have more items such as a shower cap, cotton and cotton swabs. The location was excellent because the train station was so close. Inside 5minutes walking many restaurants were near by.

Good breakfast, nice common bath area, good size room, near train station.

Location is great.Tourist information office is less than a five minute walk. Bus service available is in the same location. A bus rote takes you to the main tourist attraction Nara Park Staff is unavailable during the night. Room cards allow entry into the building

This is a very clean and comfortable hotel. Very well located adjacent to the station, it is central for all destinations in Nara. Thankyou for your comfortable and quiet accommodation and the excellent breakfast provided at no extra cost.

A drab and beige hotel, with mediocre to bad food and completely non-English speaking staff. Good location but that’s literally all that it has going for it. Way too expensive for what it offers. Would not stay there again.

Meh, we felt very judged walking in with our backpacks. Mindy shocked we had a reservation, obviously don’t get many none wheelie bag guest. Breakfast was ok but if you don’t like Japanese food you’ll struggle. Room was ok, easy walking distance to everything.

The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful. They had a spa which was really great after a days of sightseeing. The hotel is right next to the station, and you could walk to the main tourist sights. Great location.

The position of the hotel is excellent, near the station and bus depot. Its an easy walk to town for restaurants and shipping. The staff were friendly and helpful. and the breakfast was delicious.

It's a new hotel in front of JR Nara Station (in a secondary street), so has many local bus lines. The hotel is very clean and spacious. Like most Japanese hotel, it provides a small spa too.

Location of this hotel couldn't be better: just steps away from Nara JR station. The staff were friendly and accommodating, although their English skills are not particularly strong. The breakfast buffet was good (though very much to a Japanese palate), the room was clean, and check in and out was quick and easy. The biggest surprise is that while I made a reservation for 3 people (2 adults and 1 child), the room had one double bed! Needless to say it was a very tight squeeze for all of us, and there is no way a cot could've been added to the room. We were also somewhat shocked to see that people with tattoos would be asked not to use the sento (public bath/spa). It seems a rather outdated rule in 2018, particularly if being open to an international clientele. That said, I'd stay there again, but would definitely ensure we booked a larger room.
