Aoshima Grand Hotel

Excellent service from all the staff, like a home away from home. This was my 2nd visit and i am looking forward to my 3rd visit in the future.

I love the location, everyday I wake up from a beautiful sunrise right at my windows. And the beach right in front of it. You can see the early bird surfers already head at catching the waves. Walking distance to the Aoshima Temple and the Botanical garden. Free parking at the front of the hotel and you definitely want to rent a car. The train and bus service in Miyazaki is subpar. Basically no matter where you are going to stay. You will need a car to go somewhere. Part of the reason Miyazaki still maintained its natural beauty. Well, if you happened to have a bad weather that day and really don't have a car. Get the dinner reserve for that day. I learnt my hard lesson. They have restaurant service but reservation only and no exception. The restaurants in the area are not exactly follow what Google maps post says. So, good luck. 🍀 Just call before you head out. And 7-11 and Lawson are closeby about 10-15 mins walks. That's why rent a car it worths the trouble. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but with a nice retro charm to it and I love the rooftop onsen. It is awesome in the morning time when the weather is permitted. The staff are nice but I feel that they are a bit play by the book a bit too much. If they can lax the rules a little, I could have better experience. Not that I didn't. Just would be more comfortable.

The facility is dated, in need of upgrades. Take note , tou won't get any restaurant service anywhere in the area after 7 PM , otherwise you'll be eating supper at 7 11.

Old hotel but still comfortable. Room was spacious with an option of western style beds or tatami. Half board and food was good. Easy access to the beach.

The property is old, but rooms were clean and decent, Beach frontage, and excellent views on the ocean side rooms of the property, Small outdoor bath, On site parking, about 20 minutes drive to Main city of Miyazaki, Not much around the actual property but a short walk to Aoshima and supermarket

Hotel was dated with little dining options, especially after 8pm. Rooms rates were above average and I paid extra for sea view rooms only to be allocated lower floor rooms that were blocked by full row of trees. I should've book other better hotels with those rates.

Good - beach area with board walk, breakfast & dinner are ok, staffs are friendly, public bath and open air bath are good (cleanliness ok). Bad - hallway outside bedroom is very dirty with old carpet and stinky, inside the room is dirty, smell & stinky bathroom, carpet area is dirty & old with stains, all furnitures are old, wall paper are old and come off. Please read below my experience of my one night stay: The staffs were very nice when I check in, their 2 staffs brought us to the room and introduced us the hotel and specifically to tell us the room is non smoking ( yeah, that what I booked). When he opened the room with 2 beds (right the way we realized that’s not my reserved). The bathroom was so stinky that smell like public bathroom. I don’t understand why they still open this room! After the staffs left the room, I went to the front desk with the confirmation of my reservation from hotel.com, I reserved a room with 2 beds and a Japanese sitting area (at least 260+ sq ft) and non smoking. The staff right the way told me their rooms on the 6-7 were all booked for one of the baseball team. So... I said to them, i would not accept this kind of service and must give me what I paid. Later, one Staff brought us to the 5th floor and showed us a bigger room (looks like what I reserved). Then we accept the room and the staffs help us to move the luggages and settled. So be careful when you check in, make sure they gave you what you reserved!

Aoshima is a great ocean resort not far from Miyazaki and Aoshima Grand Hotel is conveniently located close to Aoshima island and shrine, with beach access. The hotel is quite old and need refurbishment. It has an open air public bath on the rooftop. The service is really great

眺めが良いです。青島神社が雰囲気が良かったです。

屋上にある露天風呂が絶景でした。朝は目の前のビーチ、夜は星空。最高でした。 スタッフさんたちの感じが良く、気持ちよく過ごすことが出来ました。

景色が素晴らしい、特に露天風呂からの眺めは素晴らしい。

海側の部屋は青島や遠くはシーガイヤまで見えて、最高のロケーションでした。時間帯によっては、屋上の露天風呂からも青島が見えます。ホテル自体は古いですが、内装はリフォームされやベッドだったので快適に過ごせました。又ホテルからすぐに海岸に出れるので、夕日を見ながらや朝の散歩にも便利でした。ホテルにあるマップやスタッフさんの案内のお陰で、夕食選びもスムーズで助かりました。
