APA Hotel Kagoshima Chuo Ekimae

I would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Tominaga who has acted so swiftly to contact the Transport Bureau when I told him that I lost my handbag and most probably I left it in the City View Bus. Within 5 mins, he informed me that someone has handed the bag over to them and for me to go to the Bureau next morning to collect it. He even explained the direction to get to the Bureau to me. A very dedicated worker. A zealous thanks to him.

American tourist - Nice room very close to Kagoshima station. Typical small room & bath area compared to US hotels but this is efficient. Room had english BBC tv station which was nice to keep up on news. WIFI was good.

Given this hotel is right next to the Bullet Train station and a shopping center with a major bus station hub. I can't ask for more convenient location. At the Bus station, you can purchase, at the Visitor Center, a daily bus pass for City View Bus, it took you to the most of the attractions. Individual trip costs ¥230. Because it is next to a major mall, dining options are excellent, APA is a major Japanese hotel chain that offer everything you need during my stay. It tends to be a little smaller in room size than luxury hotel but it is very efficient and offering affordable prices. The room and the hotel is very clean and well maintained. And the hotel itself is very eco-friendly which I prefer personally. And the hotel staffs are very helpful and courteous. They have 2 washers (¥300 per wash) and 2 dryers (¥100/30mins). They are usually busy at night but people are usually very courteous and will remove their belongs right on time and I haven't been in situation that I need to queue up for laundry in Japan so far. So I guess YMMV. But that 1 step up in the bathroom, if you have disability, you may want to watch out for. Otherwise, it is a solid 5 stars reviewed hotel.

Amazing location, close to the Shinkansen station. Bed & room were exactly what I needed. Check out extension option was nice after a late night out. Lobby smelled amazing with lavender diffuser.
