Ave Tennoji Hotel

Excellent staff and great location

My room is super clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s right outside Tennoji Station (30min by Haruka from KIX) so great location and at the same time a good price! Public bath was nice and quiet. Everything was multilingual and front desk very fluent in English. Very inclusive compared with my other 3 star experience. Lol Will stay again when I visit Osaka!

Un cleaned toilet seat and bad toilet smell. No fresh air in room, room smells like who is smoking next door or near my room. I never stay in this room again.

The Ave is located a stone’s throw away from JR Tennoji station and is a good choice for a comfortable but no frills stay. Like with most hotels in Japan, the room was tiny but functional. People who are overweight or over six feet tall may not be able to fit on the bed, though. The bed is ok for two slim adults though.

The staff was super helpful. The organization was great (for example, shoe check-in, lockers, ofuro schedule). I would recommend checking alarm clocks in empty capsules because a couple of them went off for a long time and no one was in there to shut them off. Also I'd like a soft pillow; not the bean bag pillow.

Booked for 4 days. After 1st nite stay, never expected my personal items were removed from the bed unit allocated to me, one drinking bottle was even being thrown away after i came back to hostel after visiting places of interest. 2nd day i went out for breakfast n was told that i could not go up to my bed by the counter staff as 10am till 3pm is meant for cleaning. As a tourist, i begged them i needed a rest becos i felt tired. But answer was NO. At last, i was only allowed to collect my camera from my bed under the condition that a staff had to accompany me all the way. Only the 3rd day, a friendly staff told me that this hostel is meant for local to have a nite day, chk in evening n chk out early in the morning, this explained to me why i was the only tourist staying there.

Close to Tennoji station but you need to find the elevators and buildings to go through to cross a bridge from the station (no crosswalks) to the hotel. Their breakfast was the best of the different hotels we had been to! There is a view of a park across the train tracks from the breakfast area. The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English. Could not hear the trains even though we were next to the tracks. Would go back to this hotel again!

I'm usually fine with capsule hotels in Japan. I've stayed in a couple, and they're generally quite nice. But this one was bizarre beyond belief. The whole place reeks of cigarettes, and the layout makes no sense, and there's no privacy whatsoever. Do you like to see tons of naked and overweight Japanese men? This is the place for you. The locker room used to store your valuables also doubles as the changing room. So you can't retrieve your stuff without wanting to bleach your eyes. In fact, on checkout morning, I was shocked to see my clerk buckwild just 10 minutes before I checked out with him. There are no private showers. The top floor is a "bath room" where you can share a tub with a stranger or sit on a bucket and spray yourself with water. There are no curtains or dividers whatsoever. The capsule comes with a TV that you often bump your head in. You can only watch adult movies on it. Believe me, it's a gross feeling knowing that previous guests were probably enjoying those films in your pod. The capsule itself has an uncomfortable pillow full of what I believe is Styrofoam. If the price was lower I would understand maybe. But it costs somewhere aground ¥4000 Just avoid this place like the plague.

Like the location as it is close to the train station and there are shopping malls around the area and a park as well
