Four Points Flex by Sheraton Kanazawa

Clean, modern, good location.

The hotel was simple and clean. Our train came in the morning and the desk was able to hold our bags til check in. The room suited our needs. The heater wasn’t cranked up like most other hotels we’ve stayed in around this time, thankfully. We were only staying overnight so we didn’t have much baggage with us, but tho the room may be that of the typical business style hotel, I appreciated the little nook on the far end of the desk which could perfectly situate a medium size luggage or even two carry on rollers. The location was good. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the train station along the main road. From there, most of the main sight/attractions are also 10-15 mins or so out in either direction (higashi chaya, omicho market, nagamachi, Kanazawa castle, etc). I believe there are some convenience food for purchase in the lobby, but there is also a 7-11 across the intersection and a Lawson and Fami Mart a few blocks back towards the station. There’s also a drugstore in that general area. The Main Street that takes you from the train station to the hotel hosts a lot of shopping and eateries.

The heating unit in my room was broken. The rim was very hot with no relief. I was told to open the window.

Staff friendly, cleaners friendly, room clean, good location.

The room was very hot, staff told me the air conditioning was turned off, the room was 78. The window did not open, I was given a electric fan which made a big difference, I would have left without the fan. Close to the castle typical Japanese city stuff in the area. Fish market interesting.

Room very clean and well appointed for single occupancy (ie as booked) but two pairs of slippers suggests it may be offered to double occupancy. AC labelled solely in Japanese and using Google translate didn’t really help When trying to get the room cooler. Bath just fine for showers over but more a sit-in rather than lie-insize if bathing

We loved our stay here. The bed is so comfortable, even provided 2 pillows for each guest. Room is very clean. Walkable to places of interest. Staff are nice and helpful.

I'm going to try not to be too hard on this property as some of what happened wasn't their fault, but my stay here was one of the worst I've had anywhere in recent memory. My rating of the hotel might seem higher than what this review suggests, but I'll try to explain. First, the staff and hotel's condition were fine. My problems focused mainly around the AC/heating unit in the room. So... I don't know what the issue was as I never figured it out, but the AC wouldn't come on. It was almost like the property had disabled it since its as already fall and was getting pretty cool at night. Either way, this wasn't really a problem because it was cool outside and the window opened. But what then happened was at night... (Only at night) The heater would randomly come on (even though the entire system was off) and then would just blast heat into the room until you got up and turned off the system... It literally wouldn't stop until you manually shut it off. It did both nights. So what ended up happening was I'd leave the window open because it was cool, then construction in the middle of the night on the street below forced me to close the window due to noise. But then the heater would randomly kick on and I'd wake up sweating. Leading to me having to open the window again because the AC wouldn't work. This cycle occurred both nights. Not the hotel's fault there was loud construction at 1am, but the heater... It was a nice, clean hotel. I think I just got really unlucky.

Most of the popular place are close

Very nice staff and an overall comfortable place to stay. I only wished the coffee maschine in the lobby could be used (it was covered by a sheet) the four days I was there). It would have been nice to able to get a coffee or hot chocolate.

Nice clean and updated rooms but only two elevators with a wait almost every time. Only two self service washers, and nothing in place for staff to remove clothes sitting in them well beyond the finished time limit.

Great Hotel with an amazing breakfast. Helpful staff. Central location close to bus lines and walkable to the castle and garden areas.
