We were only here for one night so we didn’t get experience the public bath. But the service was extremely great. The room was exactly what we wanted to experience…Japanese style but yet we still have our private bath and shower. I will definitely recommend to others. Only hope we can wake up to see the fuji Mountain view but we didn’t cuz of my room’s location I’m guessing. Will definitely return.

The property is a bit dated but well maintained, kept clean and in order. It worked out for our family looking for a relaxed and easygoing stay. When we walked for a morning stroll, we caught a beautiful and clear view of Mt Fuji. With rental car, we had access to a selection of restaurants, shops, and activities within the Lake Yamanakako area. But 7/11 is also just a few minute walk and the hotel offers breakfast and dinner for an affordable price. We would stay here again!

It's like staying with your elderly, bachelor uncle whom you have been visiting since childhood - there is a very, very slight musty smell about the spacious and old-fashioned room, the retro room heater and the same VCR player is still there after all these years (as well as the stain you accidentally put on his papered doors as a child). But, you love this uncle because he is full of mischief and fun, you feel at home, and if you go for the breakfast option, it proudly includes fresh eggs from local chickens in the area. Don't bother with clinical impersonal places like APA, etc. The staff here will welcome you like family so bring a big group of friends and lots of sake to really enjoy this place.

If you’re going to Mt Fuji, then try this side of the mountain and stay at this place. This ryoken (traditional Japanese Inn) has everything a ryoken would typically have, but also an onsen on the first floor. Having a bath in the onsen after seeing Lake Yamanaka and Mt Fuji on your front steps is something I'll never forget, and cant wait to experience again. One caveat is that the amenities in the room are small, but not really an issue. As for entertainment or good places, you’ll have to go around the area - there is a conbini (convenience store) around, but also a dining area with several restaurants. We tried a couple and they were great! Be prepared though for the lack of english speakers in this area. Honestly it's not an issue, just use the tools at hand to communicate and you’ll be fine! I known I'll be staying here again in the future!

Property is excellent, but area is a negative, is difficult to get there, GPS on expedia is way off by at least 1 kilometer, the property have no restaurant and all the area around, dies by 6PM, leaving you with the only option of 711, 800mts away which kind of close by 11PM i guess. Onsen is excellent. Room was excellent also.
