My family and I spent 5 nights around New Year. It is an old hotel, but the design, amenities, service, and facilities all have the standard of a proper 5-star hotel. You have a taxi stand near the lobby, there are restaurants inside the hotel, a convenience store, an ATM, and spacious room sizes. The location is close to the train station. The only con for me is the mattress; I prefer a firm mattress.

My family and I stayed at the Grand Prince Shin for 8 days. We enjoyed the excellent service (reception, restaurants, front door staff, and cleaning crew). The rooms were outdated but had beautiful views of the city. The food was very good, though towards the expensive side. The seven eleven was very convenient. The gardens were beautiful as well, but I was surprised to see that we had to pay for the pools. The area is very convenient for Shiganawa station (subway and train). I will choose the hotel again if we come back to Tokyo.

This is a 5 star property and the outside grounds were beautiful but the actual room itself was very dated, dirty, dusty, and was not the picture advertised. The bathroom was old, toilet was outdated, and there was black and pink mold in bathtub. We requested another room but they said it was full. The restaurants were overpriced. We paid $34 each for a limited variety buffet breakfast. There are no other restaurants close. I was told we can use facility at the 2 other Prince property within 5 min walking distance. I specifically asked if we can use the gym at Prince Sakura and was told yes. But when we went there, I was told it would cost $24 to use the gym and I would need to leave at 10 pm eventhough I got there at 8:45 pm. The sign said it was a 24 hr gym but they said it was only for their hotel guests? Also, the walk from Shinagawa station is uphill and not close to the station as noted. I’m very surprised this is a Prince property. I have photos of the mold but no option to upload on this review. I would not recommend coming to this property due to the uncleanliness of the rooms and the location of the property.

This hotel is not well maintained and has fallen into disrepair. I used to stay here when it was new but it’s now firmly in the Motel 6 category, despite the fancy entryway downstairs. From uncomfortable mattresses, to peeling off wallpaper in the rooms and hallways, to bathrooms that permanently smell of urine and have mold all around the perimeter - everything is in a state of decay. My favorite were curly black hairs of unknown origin stuck to the bathroom ceiling. Stay away if you have the money to afford a better option.

Beautiful hotel, not too far from train and subway station, there’s also taxis available all the time and hotel provides shuttle. We were disappointed that using the pool came at additional cost and swimming cap using requirements - seems like a big hotel hosting international visitors all the time should be a bit more friendly to visitors from abroad.

I've stayed there every year past 10 years+. The location is good, within a walking distance from Shinagawa station, sade, and quiet. The property is dated. The rooms are are always kept clean, but it's just that fixture and furniture are old. The service is fine. I needed more dining options. I believe it's closing in 2026.

Beautiful hotel that is conveniently located. We were able to easily access the trains, including the Shinkansen. Lots of dining options in and around the hotel. We stayed there for 6 nights. Only negative for us was that I asked for an 11:30am check out instead of a 11am and they would not accommodate me without charging a fee.
