Very pricey compared to other hotels. They charging extra Y3900 per person per occurrence for pool use. Not worth it. Location is great.

I enjoyed this hotel. I thought the customer service was great and the staff was very nice and helpful. I especially liked the doormen and the people that helped me get taxi cabs. I feel like they went above and beyond. The best thing about this hotel is the location it’s right downtown but it’s quiet where the hotel is but it’s like two blocks away from all the action so it’s an amazing location. The reason I gave it four stars is that I didn’t like that they charged to use the fitness center, usually, that’s included with the hotel so that was a little strange to me. Otherwise, I had no complaints. They brought a ton of water when we wanted it and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the breakfasts that they offer. I’m used to getting free breakfast with some of my hotel memberships so the breakfast was around $30. Also, they give a ton of amenities in their room that come with the bathroom stuff so that was really amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a place to stay, it wasn’t crazily priced and it was very convenient!

Clean and quiet property with really nice amenities. Convienient location - easily walkable to many tourist sites such as the Imperial Palace, Nijo Castle, Nishiki Market and Gion. Great on-site restaurants.

Location! Location! Location!
Close to many shopping areas and Gion and a hop and skip to a subway. There also a wonderful Kimono rental shop nearby called Akuru!
Above and beyond staff: I lost my JR Pass (had to get the green car one as I have pneumonia and cannot take smoke or smoking smells) and the front desk staff found it!
All the staff was really friendly and helpful.
Sure the room is a bit outdated but it was clean and loved all the little things they provided in the room like super fluffy bath robes, bath salts, qtips, etc.
Anyhow place was so good we extended our stay and was able to nab one of the few ones left.
Next time I’m in Kyoto, I’m staying at this hotel for longer than the 3 nights.

Our room was perfect. Large. Excellent bathroom. Good view. Quiet. Excellent service at front desk and concierge helped with many questions.. Design details were exceptional and added to luxurious feeling. Everything except absence of coffee shop was perfect.

This is a 3 star hotel, the property is very very outdated with musty smell in the rooms. Not a great value for the money, in my opinion. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, the lobby looks grand and expensive, but the rooms are not clean and are run down. Location is very good. Gym is not free, which is very unusual. Service is fine.

Our check-in was tremendous: the woman there was so efficient, gracious and kind and her English was perfect. All Japanese hotels maintain a high standard, but the Okura is in a category all its own. And the room is comfortable, and graced with a lovely view.
