This is a more budget-friendly place to stay in Kinosaki. The room is basic but well designed and stylish. The staff are friendly and professional and will happily help you get kitted out with a Yukata and Yumepa so you can visit the different public baths for free. Which is useful as there isn't a shower in the room. However you shouldn't need one considering where you are staying!!

This is the budget version of the property, away from the main property, but for anyone looking for a no frills stay, this place is exactly it. Relatively modern room and very clean. Size of the room will be a squeeze with large suitcases, will recommend bringing smaller hand carry bags if possible.

Didn’t get much bang for our buck. No shower, toilet was outside, had to make up beds. It was clean and well located though. Just don’t think it was worth what I paid for room.

Much more affordable than other ryokan I found, and very centrally located. But we were put in an annex building away from the main property, and with no shower in the room, the walk to the public bath in winter was very cold - not their fault, but I should have paid more for a place with bath on site.

Such an amazing onsen town to visit. Nice place to stay as it is conveniently located. No shower or bathroom; toilet of course, so need to make sure you go to the onsen to wash. Only negative is the sound proofing is very poor so you hear the people in the room next to you and in the hall. Overall great stay.

This hotel is categorized itself as a 2 star, by two stars standard, I am pleased with this. The room is spotless and spacious. But there is no elevator so you have to prepare to carry your luggage up on the stairs for 2-3 stories. The Check in Building is at another alley of the road, Once you checked in, you have to walk to another alley for the accommodation. The room has no bath facility but it is ok since this is onsen city, you won't be bathing at your hotel anyway. There is a toilet and sink to wash face. The owner is a bit strict, so be polite ;P This is probably the best price in town. I recommend.

Expensive but still be the cheapest hotel in that area. No bathroom in the building so you have to go shower outside at nearby onsen ( please check on the closing time). We were there on rainy day so it's not convenient to walk out under the rain to shower ( although we had umbrella) and come back the room with wet legs and feet. No lift to go up the room, so we have to carry our luggage down from 3rd floor ourselves when check out. Hotel manager is doing nothing and only stay in the main building. No drinking water or anything provided in the room and you have to unfold and prepare futon bed ourselves. ( which we'd never experienced this in other Ryokan). Checkin and checkout in separated building so you have to drag your luggage around which is not convenience if your luggage is heavy and it's on a rainy day! The hotel will ask you to pay 700¥ for the unlimited ticket to access the public Onsen. ( from 3pm to 10 am next day) which we think this should already becincluded in the room price or at least have notice us when booking. Overall the hotel is considered overpriced compare to their quality and services. Hotel is quite far from the train station ( 10-15 mins walk) but is in the middle of walking street (for sightseeing) and near to several public Onsen.

The man at reception was the rudest individual I have ever met in a hospitality context, I was ripped off, talked to like a piece of garbage, and then suffered the less than average facilities. I booked for myself and 2 children via Expedia, including an extra fee for the 3rd person in the room (a 4-futon room). The reception staff proceeded to tell me that there would be no bed or towel provided for my youngest child as she is under 6, despite the fact that I had paid the extra fee. He was completely unapologetic and downright rude and obnoxious. I had to pay an extra $50 or so and when we got to the room, there was a 3rd futon already in it anyway so I needn't have bothered. Throughout our stay, he continued to be extremely rude and unhelpful and spoke to me in Japanese the way people would only speak to an animal or a misbehaving child. It ruined our time there. If he had been at least decent, we would have put up with staying in a separate, cheaply built annex, having no help with bags up 3 flights of stairs, no one set up our futons at night, no hot water or tea facilities in the room (or the building), no phone in the room and less than average facilities. As it was, the whole experience was awful. Don't stay there.

The one they provided is too thick n made me hot. Thanks for letting us leave the baggage so that we can walk around before taking train.
