Very spacious, comfortable room with balcony and superb view of Kobe Harbor. Reasonable cost, only 2/3 the amount charged by a similar luxury hotel in Nagoya that provided a smaller room. The vast lobby, with waterfall and decorative pool, add even more to the feeling of elegance. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed everything about the hotel - from the grandeur, elegance, food and location. Excellent value for money. Slightly surprised that you need to pay to use the gym but that’s a relatively minor problem.

I spent about three days at Kobe portopia hotel.... close to shiminhiroba Station (Kobe) approximately 100 metres and roughly 100 metres to exhibition hall... Then, there is a shuttle bus from hotel (free) to sannomiya Kobe station... and you can take a bus near Sogo (in front of sannomiya Kobe Station) which is direct to Kansai Airport.... There are a lot of fancy restaurants inside hotel area... I took “dine” at Shushiman and Gococu...

The lobby was beautiful. And the staff were really helpful. The carpet in my room was all stained as well as the soft furnishings. It needs a good deep clean. The bathroom was spotless as was the rest of the room . There was lots of noise and we could hear the bathrooms in the rooms next to us .

Bedroom was nice and spacious, It’s a good distance from anywhere but there is a free shuttle bus. The hotel is enormous and linked to a conference centre. The open air swimming pool charges its hotel guests to use it. I found the hotel quite impersonal which is understandable due to its size. Overall it’s OK but I wouldn’t book to stay there again.

The lobby was impressive when you walk in. It definitely has a 5 stars feel till you get to your room. It looks dated, everything feel like it has not been updated since the 70s. The shower curtain has so many loose treads and room smell of cigarettes in a non smoking room. The staffs were amazing though, they went beyond their duty to try to find a more suitable room for us. Shout out to the entire front desk staff especially Rana and the night manager( sorry didn't catch his name.). That was 1 of the reason we didn't leave. Further more, the fee only for your room. Access to the pool is extra and expensive, no ice machine, no laundry room. I failed to understand why smoking still allow in any hotel room. The smell will eventually get into all room!

Staff weren’t good English speakers but still kind and helpful. The fancy pool in the pictures on rooftop with lazy river was not available to us - language barrier on reason why but I think it’s because we didn’t stay in the expensive suite building that it was connected to. The pool we did get access to we had to pay for and my girls could only swim in one lane. The pool was the only disappointment. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the onsite family mart too! Rooms were larger than expected with comfy beds. Lobby was beautiful. Hotel shuttle and access to train stations were perfect. We would stay again.

Hotel is not located inside the city, and no shops nearby, but offers free shuttle bus between two major stations and the hotel which is very convenient. The hotel decor and bathroom are dated but is overall is clean.
