I liked that it was close to shopping and public transport. Family Mart on the doorstep. Our room had no window as I’d was close to the building next door. Didn’t bother us too much because we were only inside to go to sleep.

Lovely comfortable stay in Kyoto, the staff was amazing, room was comfortable. Quiet area with a restaurants and convenience stores around. It’s a few blocks away from subway and bus lines but also somewhat walkable 20 mins to heart of Kyoto. But after being tired from walking all day, it was tiring walking back from bus stop.

The property was good, staff were friendly, and they even offered a voucher for a soft drink/wine during our stay. My only complaint is that the room was very tight. We had a corner room with three twin beds so there was no room for our suitcases. We had to move a chair out o the room to put a suitcase under the desk. Otherwise room was clean and our stay was pleasant.

Overall, the property was good. It was in a good location with food and station options. The service and employees were good and they went out of their way to help. The only thing that I was a little disappointed was the hotel charged us 300 yen for additional towels.

The folks at Kyoto Itoya did a great job of making me feel welcome. They explained everything I needed to know about my room. The loaner umbrellas they provide are great for walking around the city. The small cafe on the second floor is really nice. Very central location, easy to walk from there to public transport. And they support luggage delivery, and helped me get my luggage sent on to my next hotel, which was a tremendous boon.

The breakfast was of great quality. I like that the location is relatively walkable/just a short cab ride away to different sites. The surrounding area is quiet and makes you feel like you are a part of the everyday scenery. It would be better if the hotel can provide lotion in addition to the shampoo/conditioner/body wash. The hotel doesn’t provide daily cleaning (only towel change and taking out trash) unless you stay for more than four nights. Slightly more frequent cleaning would be a huge plus. We stayed for three nights and as much we tried to keep the room clean, the floor still gets a bit messy. Overall a very pleasant stay and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The staff were all very nice and super helpful. Room service was very nice as well and respectful of our space and personal items. It was unfortunate that there was no coin laundry or laundry machines inside the hotel, but the laundry rooms were a very walkable distance. Other than that, we had a very nice stay!
