The hotel was incredibly comfortable, clean, and exactly as shown in the photos. After the hustle of Tokyo and Osaka, it was the perfect place to unwind. The room layout was thoughtful, spacious, and designed for real relaxation. The food was amazing: healthy, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The servers made a genuine effort to speak English, which was very much appreciated, and every staff member we met was warm and welcoming. The airport shuttle was a huge help, especially since the walk up to the hotel is uphill. There’s also a bus stop within about 10 minutes, though the incline varies depending on where you’re headed. Overall, I have nothing but praise. I’d happily stay here again.

This was a great location to enjoy the Hakone region. The rooms have a beautiful view of the tree covered hills (really wonderful with the fall colors). The food was really good and all the various hot spring options were fun. Need to go more than one day to see it all. Definitely worth the trip.

Facility is impeccable and makes you feel you are in an authentic onset experience, even if like me you have never had one lol. Quiet and calm stay after Tokyo and Hakone Open Air Museum was just down the street which was an amazing experience as well. Shuttle to station after stay and some interesting drinks in lobby to sample.

Excellent! The hotel is beautiful. The staff are extremely welcoming and kind. Their service alone made the stay amazing. The room was very spacious and clean. My room had an open air bath on the balcony which was stunning. So nice to relax in the bath during the evening with a gorgeous view. The private onsen are pure bliss and so relaxing. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for all travelers!

A beautiful stay and wonderful onsen- we opted for a private onsen thankfully as we were never able to get into one of the three private public onsens on site over the course of two days. Note that the area is stunning and very hilly- local restaurants etc close very early and/or have odd days they are open if you venture out.

The room was clean and the spa and private baths were lovely. I enjoyed my stay, but I was not happy about my first impression of the staff, just one person in particular that checked me in. She was not really friendly, had difficulty understanding that I was checking in and that my friend was there to help me because I don’t know any Japanese and it was my first time. I was uncomfortable to ask for help or questions from her. Upon checking out the following morning, I watched other guests get a better explanation for how to use the facilities, and that they could also rent a yukata. Other than this individual during my first night, the rest of the staff have been nice and friendly. Still, it could really take one person to ruin your day. I may return in the future, and I hope the customer service improves going forward for the next person staying at this ryokan. Thank you.
