I love this hotel. It’s modern but still Japanese. I didn’t realise when I booked a stair room that it would have a Japanese shoes off level around the bed - perfect mix of modern convenience and Japanese heritage. I also liked that it had real art. Felt like a place that a young Japanese person with taste would stay. One of the best small hotels I have stayed at, hope to be back.

It’s one of the best hotels we have stayed at in the entirety of Japan! The large space was a lovely change after being stuck in small accommodations and overall we fell in love with the decor as well. Staff were always so polite and helpful. It’s also right down the street from the market and other major shopping areas.

Room was great and the receptionist spoke really well English and made the experience super easy and awesome. Definitely will stay here again.

The location was fantastic – it’s close to many major landmarks. We loved how quiet the room was and how comfortable the bed felt. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely return!

From was clean and large. The blinds don’t shut properly and makes the room bright even on a night. We had a battle with the AC and had to ask the front desk 3 times in 1 day to turn it to ‘cool’ and not set to heat.

The location is very good,walking distance to many attractions and train station near by.
Staff was friendly, but service is average.The interior is interesting but no laundry facilities, tv,wardrobe. We couldn't have an Air-conditioning on because the air blow straight to the bed in your face.

Staff was amazing and more than accommodating. Style and vibes were so different than a normal hotel in such a great way (brutalist architecture paired with amazing design/art). Hotel is at the very beginning of the walkable Main Street of shops which leads to Gion district. Also super close to Nishiki market. Cannot recommend more!

This is probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It was a very special stay for me, and my first time in Kyoto. Everything about the hotel has been designed with taste and practicality. The design of the rooms and foyer feel modern and luxurious. The breakfast provided was bespoke and felt special. The warmness and hospitality of the staff did not go unnoticed. I look forward to returning to this hotel in the near future and commend the owner and the staff of this hotel.

The hotel is unique and very aesthetic, with beautiful art pieces displayed in the lobby. Its location is very convenient—close to convenience stores, supermarkets, restaurants, and just a short walk to bus stops and train stations. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable. They also provide complimentary coffee and tea, which was a nice touch during my stay.

The Single Room has adequate space for one single traveler. The room is clean, quiet and the bed is comfortable. If anything, I would say the lighting of the room is a bit too dark for me.
For art lovers, the bonus is that this is not your typical hotel with artwork collections; the lobby is an art gallery for real. I was pleasantly surprised to be invited to an exhibition opening cocktail party during my stay.
Also, you don’t want to miss the thoughtfully designed, nutrition-balanced breakfast. The colorful plate will energize your day from the beginning.
