Good location, clean and cost effective hotel.
The rooms are not very big but they are in good condition and functional even for 3 adults. They provided delicious coffee (which you can get more of from the lobby). The fridge and microwave were convenient.
The area is quiet at night. There is no attendant to check in but they have a tablet with adequate English instructions. There is also no elevator but despite being on the top (5th) floor we didn't find this to be an issue (get a few more steps in!)

While it is a slight walk to and from center city it’s not terrible at all, good location. For three of us we were comfortable within the space while there.

Adequate accommodation. My main criticism is that the room rate was similar to the rate that I paid for a far superior room in Osaka. The Ouchi is in a somewhat remote location that was difficult to find on a dark evening. No staff was present. Several aggressive « Strictly Prohibited « signs greeted us. The spartan, small room was reasonably clean. Our wet clothing from a rain downpour could not be dried because the dryer was out of order. The bed and pillow were uncomfortable. The room charge should have been half of what I paid. Quite disappointing.

A spartan place which is fine when on a tight budget, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the unstaffed check-in process was slightly annoying after a long travel day. The lack of elevator was less than ideal for carrying up our suitcase as well. I’d only recommend this place to backpackers and people who like camping.

Walk up was 5 flights up, outside and in the snow one day: cold and slippery! Shared lounge was nice with seating and mini kitchen. Room was poorly laid out, furnishings didn’t fit well, needs redesigned. Property was 15 minute walk from nearest train station.

Didn't mention that they don't have lift/elevator hence it was hard and tiring for us to carry all the luggage with family till 5th floor.
No space to keep luggage ( forget about opening them) even sleeping was not pleasant ( bed were too small). bathroom were very small with local shampoo and conditioners. hard to open toilet door because of limited space.

It has been abnormally cold in Japan. The room was good sized and not too far from Yokogawa station. However, the heater was not enough to warm up the room. I had 2 comforters and a blanket on top. It wasn't freezing in the room, but cold enough that you couldn't sit there and watch TV without a blanket covering you. That was with the heater on.
And there is no elevator, but I was on the 2nd floor. It looks like there are 5 or 6 floors, so I hope you get a lower floor.

Clean, comfortable, and good value. The bathrooms are a little small but otherwise the rooms are great. Staff are very polite. Within walking distance of a JR train station. Overall a good place to stay!

One must remember this is a Guest House not a Hotel so the same amenities should not be expected.Saying that however the room I had was large,clean and reasonably well furnished.There is no lift so be prepared to haul your luggage up the stairway.The reception staff were so friendly and helpful.I could not give them a bad review even if I wanted!The location is a little difficult to find however after the first day or two I came to prefer the quiter neighbourhood to those more central.It is only a 10 minute walk to the nearest station where there is plenty choice of transport.There is quite a large supermarket tucked away before the station...as well as smaller ones nearby.
There are several restaurants in the vacinity too.
All in all then this guesthouse comes with my full recommendation.
