Staff was very friendly and helpful. Note it looks like a small takeout restaurant when you look in the door, but there is a wooden sign out front that says guesthouse in small letters. Each floor is a separate room. Good WiFi. Many small paid parking lots within a block of the property. Many restaurants nearby.

Staying at Sarangbang was quite great. The train stations, convenience store and some other stores are just walkable distance. The staffs were accommodating and the room was good enough for us to stay. Thank you!

Nice big space with big beds. Great shower pressure. Close to transit, but not a lot of restaurant picks. You will be travelling to tourist sites. Very clean. No view.

Very nice owner, but it's more of a guest house. It was hard to check in, we had to wait while Hotels.com tracked him down as there is no reception. Also no parking at all even though the listing says there is. Nice room, nice place, again very nice guy once we tracked him down. This is a decent option but it's not as advertised.

Great stay, quick check in, was able to check in early. Greeted by owner, very friendly and helpful. Note: I would advice to contact hotel before check in, for instructions in entering building. The room and bathroom very clean. Confortable beds. Good for the $$. About 2 - 3 blocks to train / trolley/ bus. A fee restaurants/bakery’s/7/11 near by there is a actually a Korean restaurant on the 2nd floor, didn’t get to check it out) (Family vacation party of 6 mainly in hotel to sleep and shower)

The overall stay was good. When we arrived, the host was not there, but he left the key and a note in the front desk giving the instruction on how to get to the room. The check in was very smooth. The room has four double beds and lots of space, big enough for a big family to stay. The location is very convenient, close to many bus stations, shops and restaurants. The only drawback was that the wifi did not work well, in fact, very slow, and this was very inconvenient.

We had a a great trip to Japan. North to Sapporo and South to Osaka, and there were many issues with all the other places that we stayed. But this place was by far the VERY BEST!! Clean and well laid out. Lots of room, 4 double twin beds that were comfortable, lots of hot water available all the time, A/C that worked correctly! Easy access all time time! Bus service very close (less than a block) and gave easy access to the whole city! Easy laundry! Fresh clean towels every day! And the owner was the nicest and friendliest ever!! Always happy to talk & give advice/help!! He had city and bus maps available right at the front desk every time we needed one. As I said earlier, a Great place to stay in Kyoto and it gave us easy access by JR rail pass & bullet train to several nearby cities.

The owner was a lovely, friendly man. The unit was clean and spacious. Bathroom was a little tight so definitely one person in there at a time but another person could easily wash up at the kitchen sink. Only a few minutes away from a subway station and right outside, we were able to catch a bus to take us right to Kyoto station.

We enjoyed our stay. Great for families. There were 4 beds and the room was clean. There’s only 4 units (1 on each floor) and a good Korean restaurant on the 2nd floor. They were very nice. It was nice they will help do your laundry.

Good location not far from downtown. The manager is so friendly and accommodating. He really goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The room is clean and has plenty of space for a family to spread out, which can be hard to find in Japan.
