The amenities were okay but I didn’t like the room. Too small and smells strange, we had to spray an air freshener. I somehow regretted booking but my kid enjoyed the pool and waterslides. The place is great as a spa but not as a hotel.

This hotel is part of a bigger business of running a large public spa , called Spa World, visited by many locals. Understanding that then you’d understand the particular way the hotel asks of its customers, such as checking your shoes upon arrival and walking around in your bare feet until you leave the hotel. Our room is in the annex building and walking around without shoes in March’s cold weather is odd, especially when the bridge connecting the two buildings is basically outdoors. There is no telephone line in the room so when we needed something we had to walk all the way to the front desk in the main building to request it and then a staff member would walk with us back to our room to take a look at the problem. The business model is to apply Japanese efficiency to cost cutting, not customer service. Everything is DIY. We don’t mind that in general, but… They charge extras for using the spa , which attract a lot of local young people. The property is near the city zoo so there are a lot of young families with kids using the facilities of the hotel. Expect the staff not being able to communicate in English and using quite a bit of Google Translate in interacting with them. I enjoyed going to the spa area but it would have been a much better experience if they apply some of their Japanese efficiency to customer service , not just cost cutting. I felt like paying a Hilton price but getting a Travel Lodge motel service ( hay but the motel is connected to the Spa World).

The room was decent, but the facilities need improvement. There are only 2 big slides, and you have to pay for both of them. For each time you want to go on the slide, you have to pay 500 yen. You can buy an all-day pass for 1500 yen. If the weight difference between you and your partner is too big (30-40 kg), then you cannot go on the slides. We came around 5 pm, and there were no lights as they were all turned off. The earliest you are allowed to check in is 3pm, and the time you take to get to your room and check in and change would probably get you to the park by 5pm. There is no problem with this, except for the fact that the slides close at 6 pm. For the kids section, it is just a small splash pad with 2 small slides which were free, but if you wanted to go on the other kiddy slides (about 3 of them), then you would have to pay an extra 800 yen. I think there was an outdoor pool, but you had to pay an extra fee to use that as well. The oden pool was ok, but there are some safety concerns. On the advertisements, it shows a woman sitting on one of the oden pool floaties, which will make everyone want to try to hop on the tall floaties and sit on them. All around the oden pool, there are stairs underneath the water, which, if someone falls, can lead to a concussion, bleeding or more. Another note on the water slides, you cannot ride alone, and can only ride with 1-2 people. The check-in was really slow. Overall, if you do not like paying extra for everything, don't come

This is the 4th time we have stayed in this hotel. The hotel room is clean. A few spa areas are closed due to construction. We want to check out the rooftop spa area before we decide whether we want to use it or not, but the girl insisted we have to pay even if we just want to take a look first! The reception in the restaurant is not friendly!

The room itself was great and very clean. However, due to the hotel adding another annex, there are a lot more guests BUT they didn't expand their dining room. This caused a long wait during the breakfast buffet as guests had to stand in line to wait for a table to free up. The breakfast had a good variety of items though, so that kind of makes up for the inconvenience of waiting for a dining table. As well, half of the spa was closed due to renovations and the onsens are dangerous with broken tiles. The Onsen probably needs to shutdown for a month for major repairs because it was a huge disappointment. I would suggest not visiting this spa and Onsen, and instead visit a nicer place.

Great stay for a night, and staff are friendly although don’t expect them to help you navigate as a tourist - they are only there to guide you into the facility. As such, luggage forwarding and stuff won’t be offered there - at least by the staff the served us. Coins/cash is still king here so bring some change for vending machines. If you get a Japanese style room, they also don’t set up your futon for you so book a western style room or look up how to set one up in advance. 4 people room was definitely a big squeeze. Otherwise fabulous hot spring and spa facilities. Showers for the hot springs are on the far end for both men and women so change and go all the way to the end first.

The hotel was nice and the breakfast buffet had many options. In terms of using the spa, I think there needs to be way more clear instructions about how it works. We were very confused about it all and didn't actually end up using the facilities. You also need to be able to climb a lot of stairs to get to the hotel as both sides have a large amount of stairs to climb, especially with luggage in tow.

Pros- Conveniently located nearby subway and JR stations, clean as they do not allow shoes inside, complementary breakfast had many options, Pool for kids was clean, front office staff helped us quickly to change the room because of toilet not working. Cons-Automatic Checkin was inconvenient as kiosk was not scanning passports, room key and qr codes on bands were non working and we had to go every morning to get room keys and bands working, access to pool is very inconvenient. If a father is taking a 6yr old daughter, they have to access different floors as men's changing room is on 6th floor, women's changing room is on 4th floor and you can access elevator to pool only through changing rooms, building with smoking rooms smelled terrible although our room was changed from smoking to non smoking as we were traveling with a child, some taxes were not mentioned on Hotels.com when I did the reservation.

The things that you need to carry to while you stay is ridiculous. You need a QR arm band, a key for the shoe locker, and also a room card. I think All these could be combined in one card or bracelet for hotel entry ?? Also the security at the hotel is too much. My child didn’t have a wrist band and the security guard tried to grab him from me- pulled him out of my arms! He was hysterical and crying. Purely unacceptable way to treat a guest. Better idea would be to visit for a day, the spa is lovely and stay somewhere else close by. Neighborhood is awesome.

The variety of pools and hot springs were stunning and the kids enjoyed it. We were assigned a smokedup room which was not pleasant. The decor is also crumbling a bit on the edges.
