What Guests Say About Their Stay

I give this property 5 stars for staff because they were amazing. From the front desk staff, to the waiters, to the food servers to the maids - everyone was so nice and helpful and smiling. The room was stunning. Classic Japanese tatami mat room but with western toilet and deep soaking tub. We had ocean view. STUNNING! You should stay here. I need to say - that while I know the hotel is older, and there's charm in that - this hotel needs a deep clean. The closet and vents were dusty and the bathroom had some mold. It's a very humid place, so that's difficult to keep clean - but just a little more bleach a poll nd this is a 5-Star resort. I would stay there again the food was outrageously wonderful and plentiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay

What a relaxing stay! If you have a big tattoo that can’t be covered up, you cannot use the guest onsen. You can reserve a private onsen instead — request it when you check in. The yukata were comfortable and you can select the appropriate size for you. They also had face wash and face lotion in the room which was a nice surprise. The traditional breakfast and dinner were great: healthy and delicious. I wish we had stayed longer!

It was the perfect place to get away and relax. All the staff were kind and provided exceptional service. But the public bath and the locker area were small and crowded. The sea view from the room was fantastic.

We really enjoyed the free dinner and breakfast. Dinner was a lovely kaiseki 8 course meal and breakfast was traditional Japanese style. Our private onsen was spectacular. The beds were really comfortable. Shower looked new and water pressure was excellent. Staff were really nice. This hotel is worth quadruple what we paid for it.

This was a nice hotel, in a town where there is not a lot to do, Beppu. I was there to watch rugby QF, which is the only reason for my trip. So whilst the hotel is nice this is not somewhere I would recommend highly to visit in japan. Unless you are very keen for an Onsen on sand bath.

The building is old, with insufficient lightings, which is due to their power saving exercise. It’s quite scary especially at night. First night there wasn’t a lot of occupancy, the whole place is very eerie. During check out, they asked to pay 150yen/night for onsen tax, which I’m not aware it was posted in anywhere of Expedia site. The breakfast and dinner is excellent, highly recommend to try.
