Having a curfew sucks, but I was really impressed by the staff and the lockers were big enough to fit all my stuff and then some. Beds are a bit hard and the pillow provided is a joke, but for some reason I really liked the place

Definitely not a normal hostile I'm used to staying in less you have small children and your elderly this is not the place for you they lock you in at 11 PM and turn off the Wi-Fi also can't use Wi-Fi in your room.
They also charge for everything.

I had booked this hostel without realising it was the same hostel I had stayed at on a school trip 4 years ago and I was pleasantly surprised as I was flooded with nostalgia of good times spent in seemingly the same room. The view of the skyline from the 18th level is magnificent both at night and day. The shower heads in the shared bathroom had really good pressure and reached the right temperature immediately resulting in very nice showers, shampoo and body wash also was supplied which was nice. Towels needed to be rented 200¥ each so bringing your own towel is advised as well as own tooth brush and paste etc. Staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone eager to stay in the Iidabashi station area as it is conveniently located a few minutes walk away!

The facilities of the hostel were practically perfect. The only issue I took with the site were the wild, noisy Russian children that were allowed to trample up and down place while shouting at all hours, whom the staff made no effort to attempt to keep under control.

TCYH is close to the idabashi train station with lots of restaurants and shops downstairs. It’s very convenient. The facilities were clean with a pay phone by reception. I had a two person room and it was great to have a table, full mirror and comfortable couch.. My only criticism is the room seemed relatively clean but had a slight smell (of old ness?) that I can’t describe. I wiped everything down but it was the same. Overall i enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

You can use JR line and 3subway lines in Iidabashi, where the hostel is located. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants in a walking distance. If you'd like to cook, there is a kitchen next to the cafeteria.

After two weeks traveling in Japan, and at the end of our trip, we found Tokyo Youth Hostel to be a perfect location. Easy access to trains and subways and plenty of access to supermarkets, restaurants and other ammenities. My adult children and I were able secure a 4 bunk room with couch, table, lockers (ample room for suitcases etc), lights on each bunk and privacy curtains. The shared toilets and shower/bathroom was clean with plenty of room. There is also two lounging areas. Two things of note wifi is only accessible in the lounge areas and smoking is allowed at specific times of day, I believe that hours for smoking is after 10pm in the lounge? Breakfast is extra with options of cereal, eggs, toast, etc... coffee, tea, juice, milk ...... If you are traveling on a small budget Tokyo Youth Hostel is a great place to stay.

Noisy overall. In the rooms, the metal lockers and clunky switches for bunk lights make it difficult to be quiet as a mouse.
Truly hot water is not available in the washroom, and the water pressure of the showers can be low (maybe depending on the time of day).
The “free” external wi-fi was down the whole time; the house wi-fi is only available near the common areas.
Although far from major sightseeing areas, it is perched above four railway & subway stations, the best feature. Shops on lower floors. Nearby Kagurazaka Street and the canal beer garden are fun.

This is an excellent option for families like us with 2 adults and 3 kids as we could all stay in one room.
The common facilities like toilets and bath/showers are very clean and the kitchen and lunch room facilities with wifi throughout make it the best choice for a value for money stay.
There are many eateries /shops and a small supermarket / department floor on the ground floor making it convenient to get some quick snacks.
The views are really nice too from every room.
Hostel team is very friendly and helpful and we were able to keep our luggage at their luggage room prior to our 3pm check in and after our 10am checkout. This is extremely convenient.
Overall very satisfied with our stay here.
