Yufuin Onsen Toshoan

We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful experience, especially enjoying the private onsen in our room. The property is a bit dated, but the staff were excellent and very attentive, though communication was sometimes a little difficult due to the language barrier. The dinner provided was excellent, though the portions were a bit small. Pickup and drop-off to the station were also kindly arranged and covered by the property. Overall, a lovely and memorable stay

The staff really are so friendly and helpful. Always so courteous and accommodating. The place is very well maintain and doesn't look old at all. The breakfast and dinner are both so good. I will definitely stay there again if I am going to Yufuin. Keep up the good work. There's a really very nice male staff who take good care of us and our needs. Always smiling. Great job.

The hotel offer superb Japanese hospitality, the meals are delicious. Service are polite and excellent ! It is a very traditional Ryokan with an in-room onsen bath. The hotel does not offer a communal onsen bath. Our room faces mount Yufuin and the view is very nice. Hotel does not have a shuttle service, however, it will pay the taxi driver when you hail a taxi to go to the hotel, on check out, hotel will get a taxi to get you back to the rail station . The stay was very relaxing and of value.

Service and food were very good. The property is a littled dated. So is the onsen.

I had a pleasant experience with extremely friendly staff and perfect dinner and breakfast. The indoor and outdoor hot springs in the guest rooms are clean and provide a great view of downtown Yufuin and Mt. Yufu. I was disappointed that the weather on the day I visited was a bit bad, but that definitely makes me want to visit Toshoan again next time.

Very cosy and private hotel with extremely attentive staff and service. With just a few rooms in total, it provides a very intimate experience and feels almost like a private experience. Large room with great amenities and a priceless view of the entire Yufuin and mountain backdrop. Meals were a private dining experience and food quality is superb.

Intimate and cosy ryokan, views of the mountains from the room were spectacular. Highlight was the dinner and breakfast, unique kaiseki experience!

The whole dining experience is one that we will never forget. The menu was well planned, with mostly local and seasonal ingredients. The presentation of each dish was a feast to the eyes. The taste was absolutely divine!!! A big shout out to our hostess Kido San 城戶千津子. She took care of me and my wife during our stay. Always courteous and efficient in what she did. Her rare elegance enhances our experience. She saw us off until we disappeared from her sight, in a down pour. These cultural moments make traveling memorable.

Firstly, since the taxi fee is covered it's quite convenient even for those who don't drive. The environment of the hotel is so relaxing and the meals are so great! Moreover, the room is spacious and we love that we have a private onsen in the room. The staff are very friendly and are fluent in english. We enjoyed our stay so much!

(230206) 투숙객 중에 저희만 한국인이었네요. 후기가 많지 않아 참고하시라고 남깁니다. - 룸: 개인탕이 딸린 방이고, 다다미 공간 및 더블베드 정도의 침대 두개가 있습니다. 방 개수가 적어서 조용하게 묵을 수 있습니다. - 위치: 하카타 역에서 택시로 10분 정도 걸립니다. 산길 대부분에 좁은 골목도 지나가야해서 직접 운전하시면 주의가 필요해 보입니다. - 송영 서비스: 뭔지 잘 몰랐는데 유후인역에서 택시 타고 들어가니 기사분과 호텔 데스크 직원분들끼리 정리를 끝내줘서 편했네요. 체크아웃 시에는 위치 때문인지 택시 대기시간 30분 필요했고, 30분 이상 기다렸는데도 택시가 안와서 직원분께 기차 시간때문에 그런데 택시 다시 확인해달라고 하니 직접 태워주셨습니다. (유후인 역 가니 낙석으로 인해 히타 방향 기차는 다 취소고 오이타 경유로 안내하던데 기존 일정보다 2시간 지연이었습니다. 다행히 고속버스 마지막 두자리 현장예매해서 탈출 했습니다. 기차표는 하카타 역에서 환불 받았구요. 이런 경우는 처음인데 참고하세요.) - 온천: 일단 방에서 온천까지 바로 갈 수 있는게 좋았습니다. 온도도 42도로 적당했습니다. 온천만 하면 괜찮은데 샤워기를 틀면 습기가 많이 차네요. 온천실 입구에 온풍기가 있던데 이걸 안틀어서 그런거 같습니다. 습기가 가득 찬 후에는 이슬이 맺혀서 감전될까봐 못틀어봤습니다. 미리 틀어놓으세요. - 가이세키: 가이세키 처음 경험해봐서 구성이나 조화 이런거로 비교는 못하지만 코스로 나오는 요리 대부분 맛있게 먹었습니다. 전채요리로 나온 깊은 그릇에 담긴 샐러드? 같은 음식만 입에 안맞았네요. 주류가 무료인 점도 좋았습니다. 사케/하이볼 마셨는데 입에 안맞아서 또 간다면 생맥주만 마실 것 같습니다. - 조식: 흰죽, 적은 양의 반찬 9종류, 연어구이, 두부요리 이렇게 나온 것 같네요. 간이 세지 않아서 잘 넘어갔습니다. - 총평: 가이세키가 나오는 방이 처음이라 비교는 못하겠지만 룸 컨디션/온천/식사 다 만족해서 다시 오고 싶은 숙소입니다. 저녁에는 운좋게 비가 조금씩 와서 운치있게 묵다가 갑니다. 저는 2명 묵었는데 6명 정도 손님도 있는거로 봐서 큰 방도 있는거 같습니다.

The Wi-Fi is not strong enough. There is no staff and service in the night but I like the greeting when we arrived as well as the view. Also the onsen in the room is nice. However, I won’t suggest tourist with heavy luggage stay in this hotel because there are staircase.

Beautiful in room Soaking tub. Wonderful breakfast and dinner. Staff was professional,friendly and the facility was beautiful. Beautiful mountain views.

房間很大，乾淨，室內室外有風呂皆足夠2人同浸，膳食很好，而且有free flow酒水，服務很好

작고 아늑한 료칸이에요! 직원들이 정말 친절하고 가이세키가 아주 맛있었습니다 :)

私隱度十足，房間漂亮，職員專業及有禮貌 食物非常不錯，晚餐酒精也無限添飲 唯一缺點就是地理位置比較偏遠，要不是自駕可能會有點麻煩

スタッフの方々に丁寧な接客して頂きました。 部屋も広く、清潔感があり、二部屋の プライベート空間も、しっかり保たれており、 露天風呂もあり、ゆっくり入浴でき、 とても心地良かったです。 食事でも、彩り綺麗な料理で秋を感じさせて 頂いたり、とても美味しく頂きました。 家族も大満足でした。 ありがとうございました。
