I have mixed feelings. I probably would have felt a bit more positive if they had not made me pack up and switch rooms instantly one day for reasons I could never fathom -- I had been there two days, it was my 2nd/ 3rd visit, and I had fully reserved the room. They were not very apologetic, nor would really explain, and didn't give me any notice at all. It was quite a hassle and truly bizarre. Outside of this unfortunate incident, the staff were generally pleasant. Outside of that, the one real complaint I had was the noise. I stayed in 3 different rooms, and in none of them did I sleep well -- either street noise (which, granted, the hotel can't really help) or from the hall (the way the place is built, expect an incredible amount of noise from there, wherever you're put). The wifi was pretty spotty, but frankly that was typical in my experience outside of super-posh places in Madagascar. Otherwise, the hotel is inexpensive for a 'real' hotel in Tana, and, though a bit rough around the edges, has the general décor of a 'nice' hotel (much better on the inside than outside). It was definitely a refuge from the area, which is not super nice. (Most would be much happier staying out of Tana's city center if they do not need to be there. One does have restaurants within easy walking distance, though.) The (vegetarian) restaurant is high-quality. Small portions, but the food was excellent (Indian-oriented, as the hotel is owned by Indians). The server is a lovely person!
