There is an additional heritage tax of RM 2, which is lower than other hotels in Malaysia which usually have a tourism tax of RM 10. The room I used was on the 2nd floor with a wooden floor so I had to be careful not to make a creaking sound. The lighting was dim, especially in the hallway (the lights were always on even during the day). The bathroom was far back (both upstairs and downstairs), so it took more effort to go to the bathroom. The AC was old and not too cold, but it was enough. There was a fan too. If you want to go up to the upper room, you have to take off your shoes (so it's relatively clean on the upper floor). There is a dispenser on the lower floor but there isn't one on the upper floor. The receptionist was friendly (a Pakistani who could only speak English, not Malay). Overall it was okay because there were many activities outside the hotel. The hotel is just for sleeping. Oh yeah, towels are provided but there is no soap, shampoo, or toothbrush and toothpaste (so you have to prepare your own). That's my review, hopefully it's useful.

The location is quite strategic and easily accessible.

My family took a dormitory room for 6 people, we took a mixed room, but it turned out we were placed in a room with other people who had no manners. The bed in this hotel does not have a cloth divider so that we can see all our activities in bed. Our roommates are men who sleep always naked, blankets are provided and are very thin and transparent. He also likes to open his pants in the room by just wrapping it with a blanket. really has no manners, he knows that two roommates with a woman, even a child, but indeed we feel he has gone crazy. He should know how to behave, moreover he stayed in Malaysia which is an Islamic country, an eastern country. I was scared and could not sleep, stayed up all night, afraid that my child and I would be raped. The other most scary is the hotel employee who only works until 6 o'clock. There is no hotel staff on guard so that at night there is a problem, do not know who to complain to. indeed the dorm room is cheap, but still must provide a barrier in the bed. If we are in a place to sleep with a person with a disorder and I robber everywhere? Why do hotel employees only arrive in the afternoon? I am really disappointed with this hotel.

With prices that cool, really, what are the bad comments to expect? The staff are friendly too. If I go to Penang, I will definitely stay here again.

I arrived at night when the CS table was empty, so I had to self-check in. The first impression upon entering the hostel is horror, the atmosphere of the old house feels. Cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms is lacking, the staff are friendly.

The location is good. Central to almost everything interesting in Penang. But, this is an old building, so it is difficult to sleep because you can hear many noise at night. People talking or giggling, footsteps, you can hear it clearly. The toilet and shower also not very comfortable to use. If you don't mind all these but you want to experience staying in an heritage building, this is the place.

I don't stay overnight. just take a shower.

The place is haunted and scary but the building has a high historical value and its own uniqueness.

They moved me to a single private room without additional charge, which is great. They provided breakfast, place to dry your clothes, iron, and also hairdryer. No complaint :)

Worth the price as you get the private room with low price. Clean, has water dispenser, iron, hair dryer outside the toilet.

Strategic location, helpful and friendly owner and staff, and can refill water and coffee, tea that can be enjoyed at any time.
