Nestled in the heart of the lush rainforest, the Rainforest Lodge in Cameron Highlands offers a truly unique and immersive experience. The setting is nothing short of spectacular, surrounded by verdant greenery and the tranquil sounds of nature. This scenic location provides a perfect backdrop for a memorable family getaway.
Culinary Delights
One of the standout features of our stay was the exquisite food. The lodge serves meals crafted from ingredients sourced directly from the jungle, offering an authentic taste of the local flora. We had the unique opportunity to participate in activities such as using blow pipes to gather ingredients and enjoying meals cooked on an open fire in a barbecue style. This hands-on culinary experience was both educational and enjoyable, particularly for our children.
Accommodation
The rooms at the Rainforest Lodge are basic and traditional, which adds to the overall rustic charm of the place. While the simplicity of the accommodations might be a challenge for those who are not fond of bugs, it significantly enhances the authentic rainforest experience. Our children found the traditional setting fascinating and it provided a great contrast to our usual city life.
Outdoor Activities
The lodge offers a variety of outdoor activities that are perfect for families. There is a beautiful waterfall and a small river where guests can swim and raft. These activities were a highlight for our children, providing endless entertainment and a chance to connect
Gee Tatt, Muin and Osman were excellent hosts. They were welcoming, friendly and attentive.
We really enjoyed interacting with the orang asli that lived in the area. Muin demonstrated to us how they used blowpipes and traps to hunt. It was a very enlightening and educational experience.
Coming from a very hectic and stressful city environment, the soothing sounds of the waterfall and nature really helped to refresh us.
We enjoyed the different varieties of breakfast every morning. They brought in different types of local food for us to try. On the first morning it was Roti Canai, followed by curry puffs and kueh. And finally Nasi Lemak. All were delicious.
As the location of the inn is not near any outside eating places, we chose to order the native dinner each night. We enjoyed the grilled chicken and fish. The portions were very generous too.
The highlight of the stay for us was definitely the waterfall and stream. Taking a dip in the cool and clean waters was such a unique experience.
The room itself was comfortable and cooling. There are multiple power points in the room, which we appreciated. We opted to pay more to get the room with the attached bathroom, for convenience.
Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Nature lovers will really appreciate this place.
This is a wonderful experience of being in a rainforest. The room was basic and clean as was the shared bathroom- clean and basic. The dining area is next to a waterfall and there is a lovely swimming area. It is quite a distance from Ringlet. The owners will pick you up. It is best for those with cars.
The environment is super good, have small waterfall nearby. It is the great place to relax your mind.
