The Culvert is a lovely, peaceful resort on the coast with great views out over the bay. It is clean and well looked after and the staff are very friendly and kind. It is very hot and there are mosquitoes so long sleeves and lightweight trousers advisable. Only marginally cooler at night so no need for warm clothes. All the cabins have aircon. The sun is VERY hot, this is not a sun bathing resort. The UV index was saying Extreme so pack strong suncream, especially if you go on any excursions. Bottled water is freely available. The restaurant food is very good, not too expensive. There aren't many veggie options, but the staff were willing to adapt some dishes to accomodate. The pools are clean and well cared for, and very welcome in the heat. Apparently there are salt water crocodiles in the area (though we didn't see any) so the pool is probably the safer option! It's around 100/150 ringetts for a cab from the airport (2023) though there may be additional fees per person. The city of Kuching is about an hour away if you need more excitement and shopping. The food there is super cheap and very good. A great place to chill if you want a quiet holiday :-)

This hotel was just something very different and we loved it! We've told all our friends about it since we got back! There's not much space in the room admittedly, which completely suited us, but for some people this may be a struggle, particularly if you have lots of luggage or children. If you're travelling light and solo/couple, this place is lovely. There is a nice infinity pool. Breakfast was ok. It was nice being in the tranquil jungle. It is quite a long drive from the airport, but was relatively cheap to get there. Overall, a few good experience for a few days!

The hotel is very unique, but not friendly access for disable or stroller because the location at the hill and have to use many stairs. My suggestion is please make the AC in the room already on before check in time, it ' s so hot inside the room. The wifi signal and speed so bad, please improve. Breakfast is so simple, and not too tasty.

Food menu was quite limited and a little bit on the expensive side. One can just drive or take a Grab to Damai Central for cheaper food. The staff are great in their services. Not much activities around but it is still quite new so it is forgivable in that department. P. S Please be strict with your customers. Sometimes there are customers that are just stubborn and somewhat brainless. Remind them it is a private resort for those who did the booking earlier on so they do not do imbecilic things especially their parking standards (I MEAN the customers). To fellow customers please do not bully the staff or take them for granted. They work for over 10+hours everyday. Respect them as they need rest as well time to time as they are humans not robots. Just because you paid for does not mean anyone is allowed to make them do what you want. Be nice to them as they are no different than you being a human. I give this place a good 4stars lacking one just due to activities that are lacking.

This hotel is pefect for couples to spend quality time together but not really suitable for big family to go to. I really love the environment there the beach the pool are super romantic. The down side is that there is no walkpath in room to the toilet, I would suggest you to clean your feet after visiting the sandy beach at the public washroom. We ordered two dishes ,one dish served was abit under cooked. It was big portion so we left out the under cooked part and informed the waiter. The friendly waiter did asked us want any replacement but we were quite full. If 5 star is the best , I would give 4 star rating overall for this establishment.
