What a beautiful place. Large clean rooms. Breakfast with a magical view. The staff were all incredibly amazing. So lovely and generous with their time to ensure I had a fantastic stay and also make sure the rest of my stay in Malta would be memorable

Fabulous staff. Lovely room making best use of a grand old building. Restaurant is exceptional too. Outstanding service and a very talented chef. If you stay here do not miss walking the ‘silent city’ in the dark.

We had an amazing 5 night stay at the Xara Palace. Our room was beautiful, with a spectacular view, beautiful furnishings and artwork. The staff were very attentive and friendly making for a great experience during our entire visit. Highly recommended. Staying inside the Mdina walls was another unbelievable experience as the tourist crowds disappear at night and you can truly experience the‘Silent City’

This property is stunning and located in Mdina. Although the walled city is busy during the day, it is absolutely stunning and quiet at night. The staff at the hotel go above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. Cannot recommend this property enough!

This was a fantastic stay. We adored this property. The service was next level in a thoroughly authentic way.

Everything was great! My only feedback was getting there if you have a car. It was challenging to find parking, however once you did it would have been nice to have someone meet you at the gate and transport your luggage. In walled cities like Rhodes Greece they meet you with a golf cart. That’s my only suggestion.

When we arrived, we were asked to wait in the lobby and were brought a drink. We weren’t sure what caused the delay as we arrive nearly an hour after check in. Once ready to go to the room, there was no bellhop to assist with our luggage and were shown the original room we booked. We were told by reception that there was a room with a balcony and jacuzzi available for a paid upgrade. We asked to look at it because there was a smell in the original room. We decided to pay for the upgrade, but truly wish we had not and just moved hotels. We were in a Deluxe Suite with jacuzzi, but had to deal with small bugs in the bathroom (pictured) and pigeon feces all over the top balcony. The mattress is quite dated and had a large indentation in it from so many guests sleeping there. The tiles on the rooftop balcony were not secured and were wobbly. On our 2nd night, the wardrobe light stopped working and that’s when we discovered that it was a magnetic rechargeable strip light. We attempted to go to breakfast twice during our stay, yet we were unable to find anyone in the restaurant on both instances. Ultimately, with the bugs, fences and lack of service, we felt that this was far from a 5-star hotel. We had moved from another 5-star hotel in Valletta, which was impeccable. During our stay there, we were going out and about and were not arriving back at the hotel until 18:00-19:00. Had we actually been exploring around Mdina, we certainly would have moved hotels.

I had an excellent experience at the Xara Palace! The suite felt luxurious, and the bed gave me two wonderful nights of the best sleep I’ve had in a while. The staff and property was exceptional, Lara, Sara and Silvia the Manager thank you ladies for making my stay enjoyable. Truly appreciate it! 😃

Such a special night at xara palace - I was able to get an upgrade for my room and am so grateful. The room had a beautiful private balcony and hot tub overlooking Malta, which is an experience that I will never forget. Staff were wonderful and accommodating. The pool is a few minutes away in the car - the hotel provide a lovely driver as a when you wish to use this facility. Staying in the silent city of Mdina was a way to truly capture the essence of this special place

Truly beautiful hotel. Welcoming, warm staff. The small hotel and attention to service makes you feel as though you are guests in someone’s (fabulous) home. The food and restaurants were over the top amazing. The whole experience is worth every penny!

Lovely historic hotel. Would advise receptionist not to argue with the guest on checkout......

Loved the location and history of th wpalace

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Xara Palace. We were offered an upgrade (paid for) the the Presidential Suite on arrival - it was 100% worth it. The space was fabulous, wonderful bathroom and lounge area. The hotel has a private, secluded feel. The pool (5mins drive) is extremely relaxing, wonderful service from Noor and Izor who drove us there each day. Would recommend a drink on the terrace if possible, the champagne trolley is fantastic. We ate in the Trattoria (definitely recommend) and explore local restaurants in Rabat too. Will definitely be back.
