We arrived with our six month old son Alexander and used EvaZion as our first stop in two months on the island. We stayed here for four nights and we could not recommend the place highly enough.
The rooms are modern, simple yet comfortable and spotlessly clean. I would go as far as to say that this was the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in!
All the staff from the owner through to those who clean the rooms were unfailingly friendly and welcoming. They all loved holding and playing with six month old son. He loved it just as much!
The food was absolutely wonderful. Simple, proper home cooking. As a vegetarian, they went out of their way to make sure I was catered for and at all times.
Staying here gave us a tremendous boost of confidence on finding ourselves in a strange land and I would highly recommend anybody to make this the first stop if they are planning a long vacation.

A very quaint, modern and comfortable facility. Absolutely no complaints about this place. The staff were friendly, the location felt safe, secure and very relaxing. I would have stayed longer if I had not already made other plans!

Helpful friendly staff . Rooms basic but clean. Fab view from the top floor. Next to a busy road so not quite as tranquil as it might seem. Need hire car or taxi as there is nothing within walking distance - no shops, cafes, just a small group of houses and sugar cane fields. Lovely kayak up to the waterfall, about 20 mins each way. Nice small pool to relax at.

situated overlooking the river estuary and sea surrounded by palm trees with lots of colourful birds flying around.very peaceful.the owners and staff go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable from bringing you coffee and tea to your room in the morning to organising your evening meal under the stars.
the area is very quiet and there is not a lot to do or places to eat but if you want to chill then this is for you

For the most part, the hospitality was great and everyone was polite and friendly. Room was spacious and clean.
What I did not like is the fact that we were told we were not able to eat inside the room and would have to use the balcony to eat. It would be fine to enjoy the scenery outside but I would expect chairs and tables in the balcony if they are going to put silly policies. Also, the staff lost customer service points when we were getting kicked out of the hotel by 10am when check out is clearly 12pm. We were told there was another person waiting for the room and we only had 10 mins to leave. After talking to the manager, he apologized and tried to cover up for his their mistake by saying it was a misunderstanding.

EvaZion is situated on the east coast of Mauritius, so away from the very developed and busy part of this island, the west and north coasts. I had a very pleasing welcome from the owner Jean-Claude, briefly toured the grounds, then to my very clean room. This was very large with a pleasant view of the river inlet and the sea, there was an excellent hot shower, very comfortable large bed, a fridge and satellite TV. The only item missing was a small table on which to use my computer. The 2 evening meals, cooked by a local lady, were excellent. All told, a lovely hotel, well managed and very quiet. My only slight dissatisfaction was with the breakfast, which was fairly basic. If you want to go about the island, you have to accept that Deux Freres is somewhat remote. It is an hours drive from the airport and an hour at least to most other places. Local busses run frequently enough along the coast road. Internet was free and reasonably fast.

EvaZion is on the Grand River East a very picturesque setting. Truly a nature lovers paradise.
The hosts Jean-Claude and Franciss and their staff are lovely and will go out of their way to accommodate to your needs. Jean-Claude is very knowledgeable about Mauritius always ready with suggestions of best trips to make.
If you appreciate staying at a place that is run from the heart this is it as you feel very much at home and not at an impersonal business hotel.

The stay was great for a 3 star. Very friendly staff. Awesome service. Always there to help. Best value for money. Great swimming pool.
Improvements: the bed we had was a bit old, noisy and the mattress springs were very close to popping out.
They may also consider changing the bowls for serving breakfast and changing the menu a bit if possible. Bowls with lids would help to save the food from flies - this is very unhygienic.
Otherwise this is a great place. I would recommend people to go there. Very great for a family as well.
