Hotel Ambar

Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was informed that my reservation was not registered in their system. Unfortunately, the front desk staff was unable to assist me, as they only had access to reservations made through Expedia.com, not Hotels.com. The hotel was fully booked, so I was unable to stay there that night. Additionally, I was told that they do not offer refunds. I am now seeking assistance to recover the payment for a service I did not receive. To make matters worse, my phone died while I was at the hotel, and I was unable to charge it because the power outlets in the waiting area were not functioning.

No bed bugs but saw some bugs by the shower. Older property

it was close to where we needed to be. Very noisy, thread bare towels, no blow dryer, no tv remote, some of my light's were out. no floor rugs. only one outlet to pkug in my charger, but it was not in a convenient location.

We will certainly stay here again. The only drawback was occasional street noise from being so close to the road, but I was able to manage it. The location is fantastic, with everything within walking distance.

Property is in nice location close to the Zocalo. There was no AC nor a fan.

Place is ok, ma’am at the front desk was rude

Excellent location with lots of transport options nearby. Also it's within walking distance of many historical sites as well as shopping opportunities.

The maid's did a great job. The desk was not very helpful. Some of the guest were loud late in the evening.

At first the room looks very clean but when I got in bed I felt like I got bit, so I slept on top of the bed covers instead. There is no air conditioning, so slept with windows open. We had continuous noise throughout the night. People yelling announcing tamales for sale as well as continuous noise from the buses, sunce the bus station is kitty corner to the hotel. There is only one electrical socket, so if you have more than one item that needs charging, you can request an extension cord. The hotel only provides a couple of bars of soap and a couple of water bottles but that's it. Hopefully you take some shampoo and conditioner with you. The towels and bed covers are very rough to the touch. They must not use fabric softener. The Wifi is very scetchie. Your lucky if it works. I really would not recommend this hotel at all.

Friendly and helpful staff but too many bugs in the room. All over my arms, belly and back when in bed. Couldn't have a good sleep.

Location was good, I liked my view facing the church although very loud. Bed was o.k I got what I payed for.

We really liked the friendliness of the staff. For example: When we arrived, we immediately realized that there is no fan(s) nor air-conditioning in the hotel. So, I asked if there is a store nearby to purchase a mini fan. Five minutes later, we had a standing fan in our room. Although, they provide only one mini bottle of water per day per person, you can ask for an extra bottle, they will bring it without delay. The shower-toilet-sink area is really nice. There is only one towel per person, but if you ask for a second one, you'll get it. There are little gardens between corridors; too bad, there are no chairs or benches to sit and enjoy the gorgeous plants and flowers. Guests from not Hispanic countries should be aware that only one person in the whole hotel speaks a little English, nobody else. You better speak some Spanish in order to convey your wishes to the staff. My poor Spanish was good enough to express what we needed. We didn't like one thing. Sometimes there are guests who party and play very loud music through the night and it's up to the other guests to stop them, because the people at the entrance don't hear what's happening in the “guest quarters” upstairs. One night I went down after 2:00AM to ask the staff to do something about the noise. In the end, my husband had to yell upward from the first floor to the third until they stopped the party. That was at 3:30AM. There were amenities I missed, but going to this very cheap hotel was our choice.

This place location is ideal - a 10 minute walk to el Zocalo.The best part is Pino Suarez subway - next to the hotel. The only negative but small is the noise. Clean, safe - hotel.

Pues alrededor del hotel muchos negocios pero no todos eran para consumir alimentos, principalmente negocios de papelería. Es necesario cambiar las ventanas que dan a la calle de las habitaciones ya que se pasa mucho ruido. Hay canceles especiales que no dejan pasar nada de ruido.Fortalecer el manejo de las llaves de los cuartos porque es fácil pedir una habitación sin que la recepción verifique si es realmente el huésped. Al menos eso yo sentí. Hay tarjetas magnéticas que solo la porta exclusivamente el huésped y tiene acceso al ascensor y a las habitaciones sino nadie puede accesar.
