Hotel Punta Ponto

Todo bien. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Pros: Location is decent; safe with on-site parking and good views of the lagoon. Restaurants within walking distance. Staff (Roger, I think) was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was simple but was brought up to our balcony which was a nice touch. The shower worked (our friend’s in another room didn’t) and we had plenty of hot water. Beds were comfortable. Cons: the property is dated; the toilet seat was broken and didn’t fit properly. It was quite the challenge to use the toilet. There were quite a few bugs (tiny ants mainly) by the window in the shower. There was quite a bit of road noise. This was kind of unexpected given how small this town is and the location of the hotel, but it was a challenge sleeping due to cars and motorcycles passing at pretty much all hours of the night. I recommend a sleep mask and ear plugs. There also was a common area right next to our room and several guys were out there partying pretty loudly until about 1am. We were in the front room upstairs on the right if you are looking at the hotel from the street. Bottom line: you get what you pay for. Was it the worst place I’ve ever stayed, no. If I come back to Rio Lagartos would I stay here again? Probably not. I think there are better options and I would be willing to pay a little more next time.

I did not personally have an ocean view, but the people I was with did have that. It was very lovely. Great stay and no problems.

This place is awesome! Very quiet, clean and comfortable. AC unit is newer and quiet and deck is large and sheltered with a beautiful view of the waterfront. The breakfast was excellent too, fresh coffee, toast and preserves and sliced fruit. The host was very nice and definitely hire the guides associated with the hotel, Arielle was awesome, very knowledgeable and spoke great English 👍 We stayed in the suite over looking the waterfront, really nice :)) Make sure to head out into the biosphere as early as possible, we went at sunrise and saw lots of wildlife before it got busy and too hot.

This hotel stands out as the best value I’ve seen after years of staying in mid to low range Mexican hotels. My room was the quietest I’ve had in Mexico, on the 2nd floor with a well furnished terrace looking out over the water. The room was bright and spotlessly clean. The two complaints I see the most of in reviews are: no hot water and uncomfortable pillows. NOT the case here! Super- comfortable bed and pillows, lots of hot water. A very nice continental breakfast with a thermos of coffee is brought to you on the terrace each morning by Sylvia or Roger, the very friendly management team. Roger arranged a boat tour for me with Ariel, an extremely knowledgeable licensed guide and naturalist; well worth doing.

Staff were courteous with limited english, but friendly. Property in a perfect location. Room pleasant, but needed some maintenance like fixing the bedside lamp AND a toilet seat that fits the toilet!

Bathroom was not clean. There was hair on the floor, on the toilet seat and in the room too. Breakfast was very poor, 2 slices of bread, a coffee, no milk and half banana. no eggs, no proteins, no choice of anything else or extra.

Close to bus station. Roger is very kind and helpful. If you go for tours wait to talk to him before booking anything as he knows the best options. Wish there had been a refrigerator, even a shared one in the lobby. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was ok first and second day but third day I got scrambled eggs. Why I don’t know. Only suggestion is a bath mat. Bathroom floor and shower are extremely slippery! Lovely place to visit for a few days. Please go to restaurant la Mojarrita. Sit upstairs - excellent food and service. The view from the front balcony rooms is awesome. Very rustic but relaxing accommodation. Restaurants very close by. Excellent guides are available for outings.

Perfect. A true gem. Ideal spot. Roger was super helpful, kind, informative, and even lent us his bike so we could run an errand.

Le propriétaire et sa femme sont adorables, toujours disponibles pour répondre à nos questions et voir à ce que les clients soient bien. Une personne nous attendait à l’arrêt d’autobus pour nous mener à l’hôtel. C’est un hôtel magnifique, vraiment. La terrasse est grande avec plusieurs chaises et tables. Il y fait chaud toutefois, car tout est en plein soleil. Le petit-déjeuner offert a été très apprécié. L’arrêt d’autobus pour aller à Las coloradas est à 5 min à pied. Le propriétaire peut organiser une visite guidée ($) avec un guide officiel qui est super gentil. 🙂 Sur le malecon, en marchant, il y a des dépanneurs pour les grignotines et des restaurants. Le centre n’est pas très loin à pied. Nous sommes restés deux soirs. Au final : qualité/prix excellents!

Great option for a stay in Rio Lagartos! Rooms are clean, there is a nice communal area to use, and Roger the owner is very friendly and helpful. If you plan to do any wildlife/flamingo tours, we highly recommend going with the option Roger can arrange for you. We did it and it was awesome.

Loved this place, Roger was very welcoming. We had the tour that he organized from the hotel, it was so worth doing, loved our tour guide,sorry, forgotten his name but he was very passionate about wildlife and the mangroves. Would definitely recommend.

The host is very nice. She took the time send information ahead of my stay to prepare for my visit to Rio Largatos. I felt very comfortable here.

The matress was very stained in deep need of replacement.

My husband and I celebrated our 41st anniversary. Our room with the view was exactly as shown and more. It was perfect! A nice surprise was breakfast on our little patio the next morning. Check in was smooth and very pleasant. We appreciated the help to book our boat tour. Not to be missed. Thank you. We hope to come back!

Our room was facing the river with a private balcony and had two double beds with the cleanest sheets I have ever seen in any hotel. Beds were comfortable, staff very accommodating. Silvia was helpful and kind. Will definitely come back next year!

Liked having ocean view.

Everything was super. Was great, staff was excellent, and breakfast was good. View fom my room overlooked the Malecon. Very beautiful
