La Valise Mazunte, Member of Small Luxury Hotels

La Valise Mazunte is, without question, a stunning property. The design, the views, and the overall atmosphere are exceptional, and the food was a true highlight—the chef is superb and delivers a memorable culinary experience. However, the service unfortunately falls short of what one would expect from a hotel with such potential. While the staff is genuinely kind and well-intentioned, the hotel feels understaffed and unable to deliver a luxury experience. There is no room service, no minibar in the rooms, and no poolside or beachside service, which makes the stay feel limited—especially given the remote location. I booked this stay to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and arranging something as simple as a special meal proved unnecessarily difficult. Communication before arrival was slow and required multiple follow-ups, even through Instagram, just to get a response via WhatsApp. During the stay, service remained inconsistent. The bartender was attentive, but overall service was slow, and staff seemed constrained in what they could offer. The wine selection is also very limited. The rooms are comfortable, but attention to detail could improve. For example, our room was supposed to include a video projector (the only one on the property), but it was unavailable due to repairs, which we were only informed about upon arrival. This is a hotel with incredible potential, but currently it feels like it delivers the bare minimum operationally.

This property is unbelievable. You are in paradise and have the beach/pools to yourself due to limited occupancy.

Absolutely the best hotel in the area. The views are stunning. It is best for couples. Away from town and lots of stairs.

Totally scenic and beautiful property! Staff is super attentive and friendly. Perfect location to disconnect fully, Food was good. This is the perfect retreat if you need a comfortable place to unwind and focus solely on a wonderful view in a very natural habitat, jungle type environment.

Everything that I expected in my stay here was exceeded! Amazing hotel with amazing staff. I stayed only for two days and had a great experience.

I loved the place, it's exactly what I needed to get away for a good rest. Food was great and the staff always went the extra mile to help.

Un paraíso escondido en Mazunte! La Valise Mazunte es, simplemente, espectacular. Las fotos y videos no le hacen justicia a lo que realmente se vive al estar ahí: las vistas son TAN impresionantes que te dejan sin aliento y en todo momento tienes una sensación total de desconexión del mundo. Es estar inmerso en la naturaleza, con el sonido del mar como fondo constante. Las habitaciones tienen un diseño sencillo pero hermoso, se integran tan bien con el entorno. Cada rincón está pensado para la contemplación. Los espacios comunes son ideales para relajarse, leer, disfrutar del silencio o simplemente perderse en la inmensidad de las vistas al mar. La alberca frente al mar es una joya, diseñada de tal forma que parece parte de la playa misma. La comida es deliciosa, con platillos inspirados en la cocina local. Y el personal! Tan atentos, cálidos y siempre disponibles para hacerte sentir en casa. Definitivamente recomendaré esta propiedad a quien busque una experiencia única en la costa oaxaqueña, y espero regresar muy pronto!

Visited for the first time. Seems like a new property and -let me tell you- the views are absolutely stunning! The pictures DO NOT do it justice. The rooms are much, much nicer in person. Easy to get there and, lastly, dont forget to try the shrimp tacos, trust me

The views are unreal, and having a private beach all to yourself is something else. The sound of the waves is so calming, feels like it’s like the ocean rocking you to sleep. The design is beautiful too, I loved my room: so stylish but so connected to the place. I loved the infinity pool with breathtaking views. The morning walk through the nature reserve and on the beach was so recharging.The staff is so attentive too, they treat you like if you were their family member.

El hotel muy lindo y el personal excelentes, solo que el aire acondicionado no funcionaba y no se pudo reparar , las toallas para alberca que estaban en la habitación tenían arena, creo que pueden mejorar
