To begin, I actually had the ability to look at two rooms because my first one did not have a heater that worked. Anyways, to begin, you are greeted with a very fancy lobby. The rooms are also decorated pretty well, but have it’s quirks. As I said, my first room was decently sized with a nice shower/tub, but I had to switch rooms as I wanted a room with sufficient heat. The room I was moved to was a lot smaller and cramped (where you had to step over your bag) and only contained a shower (which had hot water, but only for a limited time and I had to ask the front desk to figure it out). There also aren’t any bedside outlets (in either room). In the smaller room, the only outlet available was in the bathroom while you could unplug the TV in the larger room if needed. The most significant issue is that the hotel is located next to a club, so you will probably be woken up around 3-4 A.M. by people screaming pretty loud. Because of that, I would try to get a room that isn’t on the street. Finally, breakfast was solid, offering baguettes, traditional pastries, the typical spreads (butter, jelly, olive oil, cheese) hard boiled eggs, yogurt, toppings (breakfast meat, tomatoes, cucumbers and oranges), ending with a choice of orange juice, tea or coffee to drink. There is a reason it’s cheaper, but it feels pretty nice overall. Just be warned about street noise and get earplugs if you are really needing to get rest (which fortunately I was indifferent about)

It was okay. A lot of Middle Eastern character to it. Overall, it was not bad. The people working there were very nice and made sure your stay was enjoyable. I was greeted by a friendly desk clerk who made sure all was set when I checked-in. My last night there, I had a pot of mint tea, and got to talk with some of the owners there too. They did help me with my Arabic somewhat. They do keep your room key when you go out of the hotel, but they are trustworthy and make sure your room is clean.

We tried to contact the hotel continuously for around 45 minutes for directions but no one picked up phone. Room was very cold. No minibar in room. We stayed awake for hours as people outside was making loud noise by talking/ arguing. Breakfast was very very poor. No tea, no water, no juice, just a few pieces of bread, boiled eggs and fruit yogurts. Frankly I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

this is my worst hotel experience ever. i came with my girlfriend to check in..first all was fine.we showed id and all. she is moroccan. then i had by mistake booked wrong date and we found out and i changed it and booked it again for this arrrival day..they wanted it on print which is not normal. and i had to find a place to print instead of sending the confirmation from you to their mail.now the abusive harrassment really began.we talked to 5 different bosses and suddenly they said we needed to book 2 rooms cause we were only engaged not married.i said no is not fair. they insisted. i said ok i put my things in room and we go out and come back and she will not go in the room. i got a room 309. when i had put my things they came said i change to another part. i got a 209 which is the worst hotelroom i ever seen. no aircon. walls where hanging with paint. anyway we went out. i came back and said can i have key to 209. they said there is no key for 209 but for 309 and 208. i said i think it was 209. they said no can not be true. ok we went with keys to 208 and 309. and my luggage was not there. i was very stressed. then they asked. well maybe you didnt have any luggage. and they knew very well i had. they were simply harrassing me. then they say strange and went to ask a 3 person. he said ohhhh yes is 209. they were playing. i found my luggage and left the place immediately but i had paid. i strongly urge you to remove this hotel from your list

Hotel Volubilis is a colonial era art deco hotel in central/colonial Casa. It is run down but perfectly adequate. The lobby is almost a museum to the glorious colonial era, with neoclassical statues and heavy brocade curtains. It has a bar where you can get a drink (beer, wine, liquor) and the breakfast buffet is just fine, served in an opulent room. It is also easy walking distance to monuments (Mohammad V square, Casa Port train station) and not far from a tram stop. Perfectly adequate and pleasingly cheap!

Although the entrance is very attractive, the rooms are really small and the room could use some work. At night there is a really noisy club/disco downstairs and it was really scary because I wasn't expecting it. Also, if I compare the price I paid for the room to many others in Morocco - it was expensive for the quality of the room.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night on our transit in Casablanca. Since I had read not very good reviews about this hotel, I was prepared for the worst, but it still negatively exceeded our expectations. First, we arrived at the hotel around 1AM and the hotel did not have our room booked even though we had made our reservation and paid through hotel.com. It took a while for them to arrange a room for us, but I am not sure if the room was even what we had paid for. Second, the room was very small and smelled very moldy. It actually had mold on the ceiling. Third, we found broken pieces of glassses on the floor and on the bed. If my husband did not notice it, I would most probably have got injured because I always take off my shoes in the room. Also, the floor was clearly not cleaned, and it was very dusty. Forth, there was only one set of towels in the bathroom, so we called the front desk to give us another set. We waited more than 30 minutes and still did not receive it. While waiting for the towles, my husband called the front desk again because the air-conditioner was not working, but nobody came to our room to fix it, so my husband had to go down to the lobby and tell them the same thing again. They were very inefficient and we felt like they did not care about the guests. Fifth, towels in the room looked very old and dirty. I suppose they were at least washed, but the color was brown, not white. Sixth, the hotel is very noisy in the morning. Our room was at the end of the corridor on the fifth floor, but we were woken up by the noise of other guests using the very outdated elevator. We also heard a lot of noise from the kitchen on the first floor. Seventh, the breakfast quality was sad, if it is the right word to descrive it. I don't mind if the hotel room is small as long as it is clean. But the standard of this hotel is just unacceptable and it is not worth at all for what it is charging.

The Hotel Volubilis is a nightmare, very poorly kept, and terrible place! The public areas are in OK condition, but the rooms are small and the bathroom in horrible shape. No AC as advertised. And the walls between the walls were paperthin! I could hear the phone ring in the next room and the guest in their singing, at 6 AM in the morning! The hotel is above a bar and we couldn't sleep a wink all night because of how loud the drunks were from downstairs. And the breakfast buffet and dining room were a mess and utterly disgustiung by the time we got to it. Stay somewhere else!!
