Emerald Land Hotel

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. For the price it was good value and exactly where we wanted it, the north end of town close enough to Mandalay Hill to walk it and away from the busy city. However, we arrived after dark and seemed not to be expected. There was no dinner available and we had to walk some way to get any. The pool, a feature we particularly wanted, was filled with opaque, static water, covered with a dirty film, no sign of filtration or attention of any kind. I have learnt never to judge on first impressions gained at night after a long day of travelling. However, breakfast was great, the dinners provided for the next three nights were to order, cheap and delightful. The room was spacious, sheets and towels changed every day. The staff warm and friendly. The baffling thing was that though the pictures on your site are accurate the hotel presents images of somewhere very similar but more modern and rather tidier. I am glad we did not turn and run, this place has a certain charm which grows on you, it turned out to be fine - though please sort out the pool. We seemed to be the only guests.

Lovely garden. Good sized bedroom. Not much English spoken. I had to ask for hot water to be turned on for the shower. Some maitenance needed with sockets and electricals.

Nice,, family-run place. Located in a quiet street, a little off the buzzeling honks of motocylces and city life.

das Hotel ist für einen Kuraufenthalt in Mandalay super geeignet. Es ist etwas ausserhalb, was ein grosser Vorteil ist. Es ist etwas ruhiger in der Nacht. Die Hotelanlage ist schön und die Menschen wirklich freundlich. ich kann das Hotel sehr empfehlen.
